The Hop Thief has a luscious passionfruit and citrus bouquet created from our secret selection of aroma hops. Even the malt takes a back seat, providing a deep golden colour and a malty creaminess to cushion the hops. When poured, the head is tenacious, the aroma seductive and the finish brisk to say the least.

Draught at Menzies Hotel Sydney. Copper-amber pour with average white head and lace. Hoppy aromas of citrus fruits and a trace of pine-needles on top of a biscuity malt base. Flavour is similar with a moderate bitterness. Nice clean easy drinking palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught at The Charming Squire, South Brisbane. Poured a clear dark amber with a 5mm off-white foamy head that retained OK and laced OK. Carbonation low and fine. Aroma dominated by fresh fruity/citrus hops. Taste of fresh tangy fruity hops. Light body. Crisp, clean, with a lingering nice moderately hoppy bitterness on the finish. Nice.

Tap. Subtle, quite spicy hop aroma. The malt and hop flavours are both present, but they're not particularly well integrated. I don't think the flavours have the necessary assertiveness to classify it as an American pale ale.

On tap at the Portland Brewhouse. Served a copper color with a nic head that fades to some lacing. Aroma of citrus, bit of malt sweetness and fresh grain. Taste of citrus with a touch of pine. Mild mat swetness with a bit of caramel sweetness. Nice bitterness and a clen finish. Moderate body, crisp clean and refreshing. Enjoyable beer that goes down easy. Nice aussie take on an APA.

UPDATED: OCT 28, 2012 Cascade all over the place, this is a pretty OK hoppy APA. Aroma is fruity and a touch floral from the hops. A red-golden appearance with ever so slightly cream-colour head. Taste is a touch creamy with some nice malty undertones and fruity hoppy overtones. Palate is agreeably bitter and a little malty with the hoppy overtones hanging around as usual with APAs. Overall, I like this beer, it’s not bad at all.
