Good but not one of the best IPA I’ve tasted.
Eriatark (3), , Australia does not count Jul 29, 2008 Not my very favourite, but it’s something that I can’t help but come back to. Very bitter and earthy in taste, with a hint of hops - spicy rather than floral. Not much head, but with the amount of edge it has, it’s not well suited for a lot of froth. A great brew for anyone who’s burnt most of their tastebuds and is looking for something that really cuts through. Old_Mr_Crow (1004), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 26, 2008 Bottles in Sydney.
Pretty decent find that seemed to be on the shelves of most of the bottle shops. Nice mellow IPA, not the greatest freshest or fruitiest, but it was quite enjoyable and quite drinkable. One could do a heck of a lot worse. Pyobon (137), Sydney, Australia Apr 28, 2008 Bottle. A very good looking beer, it poured golden brown with a decent, long-lived light tan head. The aroma was not much to comment on; very faint hoppiness, which was disappointing given the style and the description. The palate is very nice; medium bodied with good carbonation. The flavour is a bit of a let down. It is dominated by penty of bitterness, which is fine for this style, but it lacks balance. The foretaste has some pleasant complexity of fruit (apples?), malt and maybe chocolate, but it is very short-lived, transitioning quickly to plenty of hoppy bitterness, which had nothing to balance it. Overall it is a decent IPA, but there is room for improvement. nate2g (49), Brisbane, Australia Apr 24, 2008 Amber with no head, very little aroma. Some fruit, hops with a bitter finish. A refreshing IPA.
