This premium hand~crafted ale is a unique brew of three malts and three Tasmanian hops added late to the kettle plus an original 125 year old, top fermenting ale yeast, creating an easy~drinking, deep copper~coloured ale with distinct richness, creamy head, and a slightly nutty finish.

Lightly burnt chocolate aroma and flavour good medium body not much bitterness or lingering flavours except malt. I think this is a really good one.

Bottle at Tight Restaurant, Copenhagen - amber pour with off-white head. Fruity and malty aroma and taste, some caramel malts, light fudge toffee, nutty, some twiggy hop bite, not bad.

Bottle. Caramel, toffee, ripe mid-fruits, biscuity and bready malts with a subtle grassy, pithy hop bite. A solid, malt-forward effort but has a little too much emphasis on sweetness that borders on a pasteurised character. Medium in body with medium carbonation and fine length bittersweetness in the finish.

Maybe best beer that I had in Australia. I tried over 10 beer but this is the lowest citrus aroma in this country.

345mL bottle BB 4/9/14 Had many, many of these over the years, just never got around to reviewing it! Pale amber beer, decent clarity, creamy off-white head. Somewhat restrained aroma; nutty, biscuity, toffee crystal malts dominant, some earthy hop character in there. Medium bodied, decent carbonation, dry overall. Delivers a palate with a good balance of nutty, toffee crystal malt sweetness and earthy hop character & moderate bitterness. A very drinkable Amber, it must be said.

On tap at Alfredo’s Pizza, Fortitude Valley. Dark brown, with a thick fuzzy head. Nose of stinky fruit and brown sugar, little hop tickle. Medium body, slightly sticky. Taste was a bit stale and unbalanced, but there were some decent malt, molasses and prune flavours in there trying to get out. Worth and other chance maybe.

Doesn’t come any better than this. Has great taste and palate, why go back to the boring mainstream beers when you can this this most places? Costs a touch more, but well and truly worth it.

From a bottle. Much better than I had expected, well balanced and smooth. It’s a good option at most bars.

Nice honey aroma with hints of caramel. Dark brown colour with reasonable head. Malty caramel flavor with nice finish. Light body with medium carbonation.

Very nice Amber ale. Has a nice caramel citrus aroma, amber orange colour as an amber ale should be. Very nice taste, mild caramel toffee flavours. Id rate this as one of the better beers in the squires range. If not one of the best i’ve had in that range.
