2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 StuffWine (78) - Perth, - DEC 13, 2012Poured dark amber with moderate off-white head that didnt last. Aroma of dry bready malt. Tast of toasted wheat and a nutty quality that I enjoyed. Thin/watery on palate which let it down. One of the ’best’ beers often available on tap... has saved me from consuming other swill.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 davidfoley (20) - New York, USA - MAR 10, 2013
Appearance - Copper, Amber colour. Light carbonation. Zero head retention. Great clarity
Smell - Light hop, dark fruits, cherry and plumb
Taste - Light hop & malt, dark fruit, woody, flavour with slight dryness. Bitter finish
Mouthfeel - Good carbonation, medium body
Drinkability - Light beer properly carbonated, drinkable
Overall - Better that the other James Squire beers, however still not one I would return to. Generic beer with little character
Printed on the side of the bottle :
Hand-crafted with Pale & Crystal malts & distinctive hops for a long, slightly nutty finish, this Ale writes another page in the glorious & enigmatic life of James Squire
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 bluebetty (1019) - AUSTRALIA - FEB 16, 2013
Bottle. Pours a very dark bronze amber with small off white head. Falls away super quickly lookking somewhat lifeless. Aromas dominated by cereal malt. Flavours sow plenty of malt sweetness with just a touch of hop bitterness on the finish. Thinnish mouthfeel.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber with a disappearing white head. Aromas of toffee, caramel and malts. Some hops in the taste but mainly malts and toffee notes. Pretty thin. Not an awful lot going on here but defs better than the golden ale

Bottle thanks to Caitlin. Pours a clear amber with a gray head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice sweet earthy grain note with a cereal backing. Flavor is similar with earthy sweet grains throughout and a bit of cereal and hay in the finish.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20 blackbock (100) - Shoalhaven NSW, AUSTRALIA - OCT 15, 2012
Bottle. From the moment I smelled the opened bottle I knew this wasn’t going to be pleasant. Cloying yet dry malt. Overcooked horrible hops. Each mouthful a struggle. Made me feel ill for hours afterward. Not good.
