Commercial Description:
The key to the distinctive flavour is the use of quality ingredients. Using a much higher hopping level than most Australian Lagers, James Squire Pilsener is brewed with Czech Saaz and New Zealand Belgian Saaz aroma hops to produce the pronounced floral spicy finish and the wonderful herbaceous aroma.

Bottle. Pour with a large-rocky white head over a clear golden amber body. Aroma of grass and resin. Tastes a pleasant celan bitterness with a hint of malt in the finish. A well executed pilsner.

Deep golden colour. Rendolent with minty, fruity hops and sweet, breezy malts. Low bitterness, just a little bit of tannin and wood lingering late. Fresh, fruity character. Well-balanced with fresh malts.

Bottle acquired in Phnom Penh. Rich light coppery color. Bright, surprisingly well-hopped aroma is very saazy and inviting. Soft but fairly thick palate with gentle carbonation. Clean, dry flavors, very floral and herbal. A well-hopped, good solid pils. Want more.

Bottle. Coppery gold - considerably darker than the current picture suggests. Large, densely-packed white head. Medium to high carbonation. Nose has complex bread/ cereal/ caramel malt and herbal/ floral hops. Big sweet malts with pronounced spicy bitterness to balance and finish. This is a good full-flavoured pilsener. Pils can be great and frivolous but this lacks the sense of fun that I associate with the best of this style.

Bottle. Great aroma, and flavoursome for a pilsner. Aroma has flowers, fruit, and caramel. Flavour starts sweet, with balancing bitterness at the end. Dark yellow in colour, with a thin white head that eventually disappears. Thin body, with a dry texture.

A solid pilsner If you can get it, better than drinking xxxx anyway. Medium body with moderate malt flavour and a tart bitterness. Easy drinking but a bit wide of the mark.

Golden pour with a good-sized head but lacking in persistence. Green nobles hops on the nose, grassy and spicy. Quite clean with some biscuity and bready malt. Flavours are very hoppy, again quite green. Bready malts come through, but are slightly grainy. The bitterness is bold but makes for a somewhat boring finish. Good carbonation (moderately high) with a nice light body. Excellent example of the style.
