COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
James Squire India Pale Ale is made with only Munich and pale malt, so it brews to a rich, golden colour, with a robust, malty character. Its earthy floral aromas are a result of dry-hopping with English Fuggles hops added in generous amounts directly to the maturation tanks. This India Pale Ale is handcrafted in the traditional style. It is higher in alcohol, effervescent and has a characteristic highly hopped bitterness with a crisp finish on the palate.

It’s quite simple - this beer lacks the complexity of a good IPA. there’s something almost plastic about the aroma, which is mainly malty biscuity-ness with some burnt caramel. There are more hops on the palate and a reasonable amount of malt, but this beer is just a pass when rated against other IPAs.

Bottle. Pours a golden colour with next to no head Aroma, is very weak but still pleasant. Flavour, this beer delivers mainly malt flavours of caramel-toffee but also has a grapefruit bitterness and a hoppy pine flavour. Overall- this beer is decent, but if you can try and find their brewhouse version on tap, much better then this.

Nose doesn’t give much away. A bit cloying. Flavour is malty and sweet but has more of the cloying quality of the nose. Finish is sticky and astringent and all told this is sadly what you might expect from an unimaginative macro attempting a mass market ipa.

Tap at Llama Bar. Very tame IPA compared to what I’ve had. Deep gold pour with bugger all head. Aromas are really soft...some fruity hops? Taste isnt is consistent just an over malty with a dry crisp finish. Wouldnt come back for more thats for sure

Aroma is bitter hops and could use a bit more citrus aroma. Flavour is refreshing hops, but a bit harsher than I would like

330mL Bottle, I get the light spice/foral aroma from the fuggle as well as a slight toffee malt. Taste is dominated by the toffee malt and only has hint of spice from the hops. Not sure how they can call this an IPA.

345ml bottle. Lovely earthy floral aromas. Great balance of malt and hops. One of my favourite James Squire beers.

345 ml bottle. Poured a deep copper with a thin beige head that lasted well. Compared with other IPAs I’ve had recently, this one is quite tame. The aroma is mainly soft fruit. There’s quite a zing at the front of the mouth, but the bitterness is rather muted. The palate however is long and it finishes crisp and dry. Pretty good overall.

one of my regular session beers, pours a nice copper color with a good finger of off white head.smells of earthy hops and malt.tastes like it smells, earthy hops and biscuity/toffe malt with a slight mineral bitterness. it tastes like an ipa should , and is very drinkable.
