Can first, then a bottle: pours as it promises on the label (golden!), with a decently persistent white head. Fruity on the nose and palate, with light caramel notes. Decent ale.

pours golden with a white head (no surprise there), taste is sweet malt with some fruity hop presence, sweet fruity aroma. overall a nice beer on tap, a step up from the standard aussie lager.

UPDATED: AUG 22, 2010 pours golden (surprise!) with a nice frothy white head. packed full of tropical aromas, this beer is nice to chill out on, although drinking all night is not recommended as the fruitiness can be sickly after a while.

Can on a Qantasflight. At least itís the best beer Iíve ever had on a flight. Golden color indeed and white a nice frothy head. Tropical fruits, bready maltiness and some caramel.

UPDATED: SEP 28, 2010 I am finding this to be the go-to-beer in most pubs around sydney due to it increasingly being available. Easy drinking. Suttle aromas of flowers. Bit of a hop presence.

Tap (Barney Allenís). Orange, tight white head. When really cold - as it was served - itís pretty much like any vaguely decent Australian lager. Thereís a bit more body from well-defined malt and upon a bit of warming, thereís some earthy and citrus hops on the nose. If you look at it as an alternative to VB itís good (and I guess thatís what they were going for) but this is nothing much.

Mjollnir (390) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - JAN 2, 2010
345mL bottle. Pours a clear sparkling pale gold with a fine head that settles and leaves a decent amount of lacing. Aroma is floral, grainy and bready. Flavours are quite subdued, but reasonably well balanced. Light body with average carbonation, and quite thin on the palate. The finish is also subdued and leaves a bit of disappointing metallic aftertaste.

Maris (983) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - DEC 29, 2009
UPDATED: OCT 26, 2010 From a 345ml bottle on 30/12/2009. Has a floral aroma, and a pleasant and quite distinctive sweetish, citrus fruit flavour, with some restrained bitterness. One of the best James Squire standards, this is a nice sessional brew. Pleasing to see it increasingly available on tap around the traps.
