Bright dark brown colour. Aroma shows slight breadcrusty malt, light earthiness. Light body. Somewhat neutral palate. Hints of ashy astringency, minerals, light nuts in the finish. Way too thin.

From a 330ml bottle on 14/8/2011.Pours a very cloudly dark amber with almost no head. Has quite a distinct caramel toffee malt aroma. More caramel and toffee sweetness is evident in the flavour, but the most prominent feature is a strong almost burnt, roasty bitterness. Reading the other reviews on here makes me wonder whether I’m drinking the same beer. A good ale with quite a bit of character.

Bottle from Warners at the Bay. Pours a clear copper/brown with a small beige head. Aroma was a light roasted caramel and toffee. Taste was a slightly hop and nut combo, with a light roasted flavour. Not very impressive, but drinkable i suppose.

Thick brown colour, with a small beige head that dissapears quickly. Roasted toffee elements to the aroma, which follow through to the flavour. Roasted flavour lasts to the after taste. Plesant beer.

Bottle. Pours copper with a large fluffy beige head that settles to an inch. High bead. Very modest aroma of a little cereal and caramel. Taste has some crystal malt sweetness and a fair bit of spicy hop bitterness. Spicy finish. The malt’s a little simple and subdued and there’s too much carbonation, but it’s OK.

Lovely mahogony color. Huge head. Filled the whole glass very quickly. Not much on the aroma front. Perhaps a little malt but not much else. Tasted of a little malt and a little yeast though overall very bland. Good mouthfell. A little fizzy and some malt sweetness. OK . A bit lacking with not much happening at all.

Little aroma at all. Minimal head that dissipated almost immediately. Strong malty flavours which are balanced well by the bitterness. A decent session beer.

Sweet malt dominated brown ale, but the roasted malt is still there and more noticeable as the palate becomes more saturated. Some floral/fruit notes give it an english ale tilt. The flavour is ok, without being anything special, with the sweet maltiness and a touch of short lived bitterness hitting the back of the tongue in the finish. A very drinkable ale, hopefully this brewer comes up with more like this and less like their raspberry.
