motelpogo (4124), Plzen, Czech Republic Mar 27, 2008 bottled, many thanks to mullet - i’m glad that this wasn’t the beer that leaked in his backpack, although that one still turned out alright. bright amber, slim but steady head, aroma of butterscotch and menthol, plenty of cookie doughiness and caramel, some fruit salad and plenty of bitterness. quality stuff bluevegie (1770), Perth, Australia Nov 25, 2006 Updated: Apr 17, 2008At least 10 big American beers ( thanks to kook ) before Mullet got us to try this one. Jamiesons haven’t really impressed me before but this one did impress me. Good looking body, poor head, violet crumble after honeycomb and then my notes stopped making sense.
Re Rate 17/04/08 Lovely chewy bitterness backed well with biscuity caramel malts. Still lovely! Sully (1362), Woolloomooloo, New South Wales, Australia Oct 5, 2006 The nice gents at Purvis provided me with this one. Expectations were high given the ABV and promise of a hellish hop hit. It pours well and keepa a head, nose is nice and spicy with a defininte hop aroma escaping. the taste is also the mouth pucker you want in a good IPA. No lack of balls here, I hope it performs well and keeps its quality. Bragesnak (1336), Aarhus, Denmark Mar 29, 2008 Melbpurne, Australia
Bottled
Malty caramel but dominated by hops
Floral and aroma is hopped - odd but OK eczematic (1170), Sydney, Australia Oct 13, 2007 i can’t quite work this one out alongside the brewery’s other products... it’s like a mediocre country/rock band put out an one-off doom-metal album that happens to be really good. perhaps they should change their other brews to more beastly ways. i am getting a bit bored of this style but they do it well. enough biscuity malt to balance out the toffee, not too thick and sweet but still certainly full enough to take the bitterness, a good mix of hops that covers the usual grapefruit and tropical stuff but also some more goldings-like spicy/leafy elements, bitter and resinous for sure, but not complete smoker’s toothpaste. well constructed. a bit concentrated tasting though, rather than an endless vista of flavour unrolling across your palate it’s like one short but very powerful hit.
