500 ml bottle bought @ Systembolaget and consumed on December 13. Pours pale amber with a white head that leaves some lacing while dissipating. Smell is malty sweet with butterscotch, caramel, bread and some orange zest. Taste is slightly sweet and rather bitter with butterscotch, lemon zest, orange zest and some resin. Finish is rather dry and rather bitter with hints of bread. Quite drinkable.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Boystout (1000) - Chisinau, MOLDOVA - FEB 28, 2003
A masterpiece, as usual, from Jämtland. Hops are dominant but there's a delicate flavor from wheat malt as well. Very rich and flavorful.

UPDATED: OCT 24, 2005 Keg @ The Ardbeg Room, Stockholm Maybe the last chance to drink this beer as it is rumored to be discontinued. Not confirmed, though. This is usually my favourite beer from this brewery. This glass, however, was probably old and maybe badly kept. A distict hay aroma and a whole lot of butterscotch in taste. Notes of cardboard indicating some oxidation and no aftertaste whatsoever. Quite disappointed and I’m confused wether I should rate this glass or the way it used to be... It has to be this one, I’m afraid... (Normaly this beer would probably end up with 4+) 4/4/4/3/8 2.3 RERATE Keg @ Stockholm Beer Festival 2005 We have normality! This beer will NOT be discontinued. A well balanced sweet maltiness is here with a distinctive bitterness and a flowery aroma and taste. Some toffe present. Nice and long aftertaste. Nothing wrong with this. Gimme another one!
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 Vignale (914) - Malmö, SWEDEN - SEP 28, 2011

Bottled. Pours hazy copper with a big white head. Smells bread malty and boiled vegetables. Tastes dry bitter malty with a similar finish.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 DrBeer (825) - Solna Stockholm, SWEDEN - AUG 18, 2002
UPDATED: FEB 11, 2004 Copper, amber beer (Bärnsten means amber in swedish).
Fresh malty aroma with citrusy tones, lots of hops. A hint of sourness and wet cardboard
Bitter and a bit buttery flavor with fruity tones and feeling of standing in the middle of a grain field. Big, dry bitter finish. This one is not Jämtlands top beer but shows what a high standard they have.
