Jämtlands Bryggeri is probably one of the best breweries in Sweden, take a pint of this and you’ll understand...

One of my favorites: dark amber color, thin head with some gentle yeastiness and hoppiness in the aroma. Wonderfully spicy, herbal and slightly caramelly. One of the best session beers I've ever tasted.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 bark (255) - Linköping, SWEDEN - OCT 2, 2004
A copper colored bitter ale, but without the typical "volcano" foam head - the foam is more like a dark lager. The carbon dioxide disappears from the brew after a short while, but it is just the right mouthfeel for a good bitter.
The label says that it is brewed with Styrian and East Kent Goldings hops. At least the Goldings is quite easy to notice from the smell, wich is quite sweet for a bitter.
The taste is bold with a large body and a bit salt-sweet with a full, long and dry aftertaste, typical for Jämtlands Bryggeri.
People who like the taste of the other two beers that Jämtlands Bryggeri produced in collaboration with the Stockholm pubs Akkurat and Oliver Twist, the lager Hell and the dark lager Heaven, will recognize and like this ale. It is perhaps more correct to say that Fallen Angel Bitter is the bitter interpretation of this style.
Not the right selection of beer if you want to sink a lot of beer one evening,
but as a session beer for a quiet evening, it is an bitter with a twist.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 TBone (9434) - Pori, FINLAND - FEB 6, 2005
Bottled (BB 04/2005)
Clear copper brown color, with medium-sized off-white head, lace. Aroma of English hops and notes of roast and caramel. Interesting mouthfeel: medium-bodied with toffee and slightly roasted malt tones. Very good late bitterness in the aftertaste. Very British and very well-balanced, similar to some Fuller’s brews.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 DrBeer (825) - Solna Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUL 24, 2002
Dark orange. Buttery, toffee fresh aroma with herbs, hops, red meat and chocolate tones. Flavour with soil, chocolate and biscuit tones. Hints of red meat.
Smooth ending , a bit buttery. But still powerful bitterness. Again a top class beer from Dave Jones and his gang.

Pours brown/redish with a pretty good creamy head that leaves some lacing. Yeasty, cellar-ish nose with buttery hints. Smooth, citric, hoppy flavour with some nuttyness and flowery notes. Excellent bitterness in finish. Medium to full bodied.

Bottled. Clear copper brown, small white head. Aroma consists of hops and roast, with notes of citrus. Very wellbalanced taste of malt and roast. Bitterness in the taste is a bit delayed. Best bitter I’ve had so far.
