| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 17, 2005 Bottle. The liquid is clear; the colour is very deep wine red. The compact, finger-thick foam is beige and firm.
The smell is dominated by a fruity flavour of cascade hops, but there are also notes of burned malt, toffee and diacetyl.
The carbonation is fresh with small bubbles.
The taste is rather complex with notes of burned malt and a solid bitterness and a fruity body. The finish is balanced with notes of black coffee and a fine fruity sweetness.
I like!

Bitter hoppy taste with roast coming in strong. Aftertaste is more bitter than the bitterness while drinking it. TBone (6868), Pori, Finland

Almost opaque dark ruby, creamy expresso head. Aroma has roast, cold coffee and hints of hops. Medium to full bodied, lots of roast with hints of sugar. Bitter finish. There is just something plastic in the palate which prevents this to being an excellent. Eructoblaster (1510), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada

Hoppy, bitter and dry aroma with some sweet caramel tones, maybe some herbs come up too. Flavor is rich with roasted coffee, herbs and endig turns out to be strongly dry, herbal taste giving nice character. Good brew, still expected more out of this. sayravai (3790), Helsinki, Finland
