thedm (4773) - Fort Wayne, USA - APR 28, 2006
This bottled brew sampled at Dicks Bodacious Bar-B-Que RB event poured a small sized head of finely sized light brown colored mostly diminishing bubbles that left a poor lacing and a semi-opaque dark ruby red brown colored body. The aroma was sweetly malty. The mouth feel contained a mild malt bit but was otherwise unnoted. The flavor contained notes of this sweet malt and mild brown malts.

500 ml can. 89810-01. BB 04/13. (Systembolaget) Östersund, Sweden. Dark reddish brown colour with small light tan head. Hops, mild bitterness, roasted malt and berries in aroma. Caramel sweetness too. Flavour is caramel malt, buttery sweetness, bitterish hops and some bitterness. Maybe a little bit too much diacetyl. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(Bottled) very dark brown-red color with a medium, tanned head. Roasted, quite dry aroma, but with some caramely-plummy maltiness and moderate hopping. Very roasted-malty, but still quite dry and ashy flavor. Smooth, chalky, medium-bodied palate. A tasty and quite complex dunkel.

thebeertourist (4271) - Oslo, NORWAY - OCT 29, 2005
Aroma of roasted malts and bitter chocolate. Very dark brown beer with red tones. Head is beige and creamy, not long lasting. Flavour is sweet and filled with bitter chocolate. Finish is dry, with good cleansing bitterness. Soft on the palate, a bit watery body. Even though it is bottom-fermented, it tastes more like a decent porter than a schwartzbier
