FatPhil (6219) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JAN 25, 2009
Draught (Akkurat)
Anna says: Restrained but clearly hoppy aroma. Hop tingle in the mouth is pleasant, and the taste is quite full for a hell. Milky, which was hinted at in the aroma. A bit of light malts but not too sweet at all. While it looks like a filtered lager with a small persistent head, the taste and palate have more in common with unfiltered lagers, with a creamy consistency. Bitter hops stay around but are not overpowering. Unusually, Phil did not share this.

Thanks to 2nd annual trade with Madsberg in Europe. While it smells lagerish, it is a cloudy yellowish with a thin retainng crown head. Smooth and very drying taste. Hop is there,it’s acidic and clear as is malt, and they are entwined together uniquely.

Rastacouere (5923) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 20, 2004
Dark gold, honest sticky white head though diminishing. Woh! There’s quite an aroma on this Helles! generous honeyish malt is gently covered by fragrant cascade hops. Admirable cookie character, mild grapefruit. Bold, yet smooth. This is what I’d like more brewers to try with C-hops, they can make very interesting and pleasant beers when used not as the only focus. Jamtlands Hell for one is extremely balanced, quenchable. This hoppiness adds some fire to it. Finish is salty, woody. Incredibly smooth body, very soft carbonation, full bodied. This is art.
