Bottle, Dark brown. Aroma of raisins, honey and the usual "smell of Jämtland". Sweet taste, much of everything, some taste of liquorice in the aftertaste.

One of my Christmas favourites. Deep dark brown-red colour with a nice frothy off-white head. Deep toasty and roasty malt flavours with dark fruity and chocolatey notes with earthy english hops. Medium bittersweet with a lasting finish. A great companion to the Christmas foods.

UPDATED: MAR 31, 2009 Pours a dark red/brown color in my Jämtlands glass. It has a nice foamy head. A bit of lacing. Aroma is interesting of caramel, very malty, some toffee notes along with a typical fruitiness. Flavour is malty, caramely (very caramely actually) with a good bitterness. Notes of citrus, some aromatic hops, toffee and dried fruits, it also got a slightly burnt note with a bit of nuttiness. Overall very balanced and tasty. There’s also some special Jämtland note, which I tend too find in moast of there beer. Here it makes it very well with the other flavours, so nothing negative about that. Mouthfeel is quite smooth and filling with a certain "bite" in it. A very drinkable and nice Christmas beer, I’m glad I finally tried it.

Bottle from Systembolaget, at home. December, 2011.
Pours dark brown with a clear red hue and a off white creamy head. Slightly sweet, nutty aroma with notes of roasted malt, sweet bread, caramel, and butter. Full taste and body with notes of dried fruit, figs and plums. Some spicy malt, bread and warming alcohol towards the end.

Sweet aroma but also some salty meat among the chocolate. Flavour seems and odd clash of sweet malts and almost sour tasting hops(?). Not bad but feels schizo.

Bottle. Bark, brownish with a large but disappearing head. Fruit, caramel and some hops. Low carbonization. Roasted in taste. Short, dry aftertaste.

SamTheBarrel (461) - Vallentuna, SWEDEN - NOV 17, 2013
UPDATED: JUN 9, 2014 500ml bottle, pours opaque dark mahogany with a small tan head. Aroma and taste of roasted malt, prunes, caramel and muscovado. Light sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium body, smooth texture and average carbonation. Less sweet and better balanced than most Swedish Christmas beers, low on spices however. A pleasant tasty beer overall.

Bottle. Deep amber/red. Malty throughout with hints of hops. Lacking in some way.. Slightly disappointed, but I find Jämtlands to be slightly hyped..

Dark, looks like coco-cola. Has a great aroma frpom tofee, but the flavor is way too bitter. Especially the finish is hard to handle.
