Beautiful brown beer with a very smooth mouthfeel. Thinnish in body given the color but appropriate for the style. Almost smokey roast bitterness balanced with a sweet raisin flavor. Great porter.

I don't think that this was a bad bottle- just a very over-rated beer. Black color with hints of red. Head was good. Nose was burnt in the back and slightly sour. Very bitter, ashy. Typical porter like ashy-ness.

Coffee colored; bitter coffee, chocolate aroma; nice head with everlasting lace; taste like mild fruitcake; very smooth texture with hoppy finish. Would make a sensational Christmas addition. Cheers to Hops!!!

Tightly packed foam atop a deep raisin hue. Toasted oatmeal laden aroma coupled with a fair trace vinous traces. Underlying leather, brown sugar, faint fig, diacetyl, leafy hop, cola, toffee, blackberry, and prune. Fluffy carbonation. Light oxidation. Flavors of raisins, cracker, caramelized and sugar. Light leafy hop finish with a long vinous edge. A bit oxidized and surprsingly underbodied. Still, a flavorful, gentle example. God bless, hopsrus and per!

Expectations do run too high for this, but once it warms up you get some ruby fruit, some mild bitterness, and a lush roasted quality. Good, but I'm not sure how good. Thanks to Per for supplying copious volumes of this!

Bottle courtesy of Ompher, very dark rich brown color, not completely opaque but close, very thin lace, slightly fruity aroma. very unique combination of the tastes of bitter coffee/chocolate and fruity plum/apple.

Bottle, courtesy of Ompher. Dark brown, average head. Not as good as I had expected. Smokiness, coffee, dry mouthfeel.
