Vaaf...(5).

Apparently, deluxe beer is a synonym of beer with a buttload of honey. If you like sugar and don’t fear diabeetus after you finished the bottle, this beer is for you. There is also a light aftertaste of alcohol, which is neat as it isn’t as strong as the 8% of alcohol would suggest. Seriously, it isn’t awful, but becomes quickly disgusting. A whole bottle might be difficult to drink.

Strong honey aroma. At first rather alcohol-full. Then more on the sweeter end of the tongue. A citrus hint in the brew.

Golden body, stable head. Sweet malts, Belgian yeast esters, quite dank. Simpler taste, nice refined malts, simple aftertaste. Enjoyable beer. (33cl bottle from ABS Drinks)

10/10/2015 sample from 33cl bottle @ Bles Bierhappening, Zottegem. Orange to yellow colour with large white head. Aroma & taste : lots of fruit, definetly banana, some grains, some spices, sweetness.

Commissioned beer now made by Slaapmutske, but according to Wacho this has been in existence for a long time and was originally made at Riva. Thick, stable, creamy, snow white head, pure and clear golden blonde colour. Aroma of starfruit, gooseberies, grass, sweaty grains, green tea and some off-putting odours of smokey, melting plastic (DMTS) and sewer water (H2S). Sweetish, fruity onset, banana, pineapple, fizzy carbo, pale malt sweetishness, slightly bready, bit honeyish, smooth, sourish accent as well as something vaguely toasted, finishing in herbal hop bitterishness but unfortunately badly hidden, wodka-like alcohol and retronasal DMTS as well. Not convinced by this, it has some errors and it does not really add anything to the already overcrowded Belgian strong blonde style.
