COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It is a product which is characterised by the fullness, strong body and slightly mead-caramel flavouring. The merit of this beer is also its very delicate bitterness. 6.0 % alcohol vol.

UPDATED: AUG 17, 2004 April 2003. Johan Comenius was a radical educationalist who while bishop of the Moravian Church introduced educational ideas that later influenced Montessori and Piaget. It's a shame his name was put on such a dreadful beer. The strong bitter taste is crude, as though made from a combination of cheap, stale hops and used tea leaves. [1.3]
Aug 2004. I'm sorting through my beer collection and extracting the out of date beers. This poor bastard died in June last year. It kept being left because it was clearly a very poor beer - and, of course, the older it was getting, the less appealing it was becoming. However, drinking it now I'm quite impressed. I think 14% translates into 6% abv, but I could be wrong because this is a fairly full bodied and silky beast which has done more than merely survive. It seems to have actually improved. The strong bitterness I noticed a year ago has certainly softened. The hop flavour is not cardboardy. Mmmm. I'm actually impressed with this. Buttery. Honey notes. Herbal, spicy notes. This is like a mellow Belgian Blonde. I can feel the alcohol having an effect on my brain. This has to be more than 6%. This is very pleasant. Very enjoyable. Wonder of wonders!
