My Bottom Line:
Honeyed maltiness lather a herbal hop tenacity in this sturdily-built and immensely quenching Svetlé Specialni.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-Lofty foam bobs atop the clear dark golden.
-The hoppy second half is both herbal and leafy, and lingers nicely.
-Carbonation is big-bubbled and helps to increase drinkability.
-Malts also offer bready notes.
Bottle; best before June ’08.
3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 jacobwennbom (333) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - OCT 10, 2009
Looks nice and golden when it pour. White head that doesn’t last. Fresh, hoppy smell with some malty notes in it. Taste is bitter and full. Lots of caramelly malt along with some honeylike sweetness that makes up for the bitterness in a good way. Both malt and hops lingers in the mouth.

bottle from Pivní Galerie. Clear golden colour, medium-size head. Fruity and hoppy aroma. Full-bodied bitter-sweet, very malty and very hoppy at the same time, exactly how I love Bohemian 14° lagers. A shy hint of marzipan is present. Well-balanced, a lovely brew.

Bottled 500ml. -Clear golden coloured, medium to big white head, pleasant hoppy nose. Moderate malty, hoppy and grainy with notes of herbs. Rather bitter finish. Very good Boh. pils and the best Czech beer I’ve tried on Rujanfest.

On tap at Richtar Jakub, Bratislava. Golden color with huge white head. Aroma of yeast, malt, red fruits. Fruity taste, with malt and caramel and light bitterness. Bittersweet finish. Good.

0.5l bottle at the Beershop tent at the Rujanfest in Zagreb. (thanks!) A very pleasant surprise at the end of one extensive rating day. Poured a golden body with a big thick chalky white head. Flowery nose with some herbal hoppy notes (Saaz?). Sweet but not excessively so nice grainy malty taste with some fine herbal hopiness. Wasn’t able to go into details but this was definitely the tastiest beer I’ve had that day.

Bottle. A clear, golden beer, topped by a decent white head. Lacings too. Hay, grass and malts on the nose, sweetness indicated. Good herbal hops with some resin. Full-bodied and smooth, with a bit much sweetness. Good bitterness, but a little too less to deal with the sweetness. Still, a nice beer indeed. Maybe not as quenching as I would like it, but pleasant indeed. Sweet finish with straw and fruity sweetness, and a bitterness to back it up. A pleasant beer for sure. 100529

Bottle. Honey, caramel malt and grass aroma. Clear golden yellow color with moderate head. Sweet honey malt and moderately bitter herbal hops flavor. Nice body. Not very well blended but okay.
