At CML fontainas . Pours unclear amber . Resistant good white head . Smell is fresh and hoppy . Taste is aromatically hoppy , bit bitter . Some lemon notes . Not dry / hay at all, so hard to see this as a saison . i’d call this a hoppy belgian ale . Yet its nice, and that is what its all about .

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden body with a medium creamy white head. Nose is mild grainy notes, wheat, muscovado grapes, wet grass and hints of faint phenolic rubber-like notes, citrus, white sugar and hay. Taste is sweet grainy tones, straw, hay, white sugar, wheat and hints of bitter citric tones. Medium body, medium to high carbonation. Enjoyable enough, but far from a great saison.

Hazy golden with white head. Aroma is spice, ripe fruit, earth and citrus. Fruity palate. Aftertaste is dry, fruity, hops, metallic and bitter. Overall: After trying the excellent La dalmatienne from La fantome i was quite underwelmed with this one

TET (1755) - FINLAND - OCT 17, 2014
A golden beer with a big and blond head. The aroma is great, fruits and slightly tropical, mangos, citrusfruits, grass, some spices and grain. Taste has grain with the great hops, sour citrusfruits, grass, nice spicyness. Medium bodied, strong carbonation, fresh to drink. Not a typical saison. Aromatic hops integrates to traditional saison. Tasteful beer.

Bottle @ home. Hazy pale straw color with white foam. Nose is rather heavy on the apple. A lot of straw, grass, and stone fruit. Soft wheat bread, some yeast, and maybe some white grape. Flavor is a touch on the sweet side. Cider and white grape notes are rather strong. Some bread, cracker, and grass. Subtle bitterness. A dry fruit skin character on the finish. Not as good as I’d hoped.

Clear golden with a nice white foam. Nice spice aroma, malt sweetness, cereal, citrus. Taste is well balanced, a little more sweet than bitter. Finish is dry, lively carbonation. Highly drinkable

Alengrin (2431) - BELGIUM - AUG 22, 2014
Relatively new saison with thick, moussy, delicate, sticky, light yellowish head and deep colour of ’old gold’, clear at first but gradually becoming more hazy as more from the bottle is added and eventually a cloudy peach blonde. Aroma of sweet pale malts, pickles, orange juice, cheese spread, gooseberries, vanilla, cucumber, flowers, sorrel. Mineral-like onset with soft carbonation, restrained fruitiness, malty with a strong, peppery, grassy hop bitterness emerging rapidly, bit of sourishness too, merging into a long and dry, complex finish. Something in between a saison and an IPA and, like everything else from this humble brewery, a fascinating and idiosyncratic brew.
