750ml Bottle Pours a hazy dark gold and only faint head and lacing. A bit caught off guard by the powerful floral aromas. perfume like, some coriander and lavender as well. Quite a bouqet actually. Flavor is mildly funky with a slight sourness in the finish. Body is medium carbonation and a slight puckering dry finish. Overall not a bad brew and an interesting one as well

This is a beautiful beer. A bit "Americanized" in its hop-forward nose and relatively sour aftertaste, but this beer is all class. It’s refreshing and not a "double" like some "newer" saisons. Without being an expert on this style, I would call this one wonderfully typical yet individual.

From a growler obtained at Capone’s in PA. Pours a transparent golden yellow. Aroma has lots of clean floral citrus hops, a touch of yeast. Flavor is very light and dry, with delicious citrus hops, brett, and a touch of cereal. Lots of light fruit, and pleasant bitterness. Good mouthfeel, hoppy bitter finish.

Draft, SIB. Golden, hazy, with a white head. Aroma is fruity, with white grape and apple, spice, hay, gentle wheat notes. Tastes matches the aroma pretty close, with pleasant fruitiness and lemon thrown in, very light yeasty spice, earth, floral notes, and hay as it finishes. A rather straightforward saison, but I’d love to try it again with a fresher palate.

Bottle. Pours golden yellow with a small white head. Fresh, lightly spiced, american citrus hoppy aroma. An extremley drinkable beer, fresh of citrus hops, light earthiness. Notes of pineapple, sweet raspberries and melon. Smooth and well balanced. Quite thin bodied, but that’s a fact that makes it even more drinkable. I could drink this beer a whole night without getting bored.

No Bottle date, Sampled April 2010 @ Brasserie Beck, Washington DC
The beer pours with a hazed, orange-tinged, pale amber, almost honey color. It is not visually as explosive as some Saisons, but it is still well carbonated with a pale, off-white colored head. The aroma is tart, with a peppery scented earthy base wild herb aromatics and a rustic, weed-like grassiness. This is much more rustic and earthy than Dupont and not as cleanly hoppy. Fresh pear aromatics lean towards green unripe pear, a touch of chive, some definite nettle and herbal-pepper notes play a big role in the nose.

The beer tastes lightly tart, but well balanced by pale grain flavors that are almost cracker like. There is also a hint of sweetness that keeps this from being bone-dry, but this is most definitely dry like a good Saison should be. Grassy herbal hops and a lingering bitterness are found in the finish. Hints of orange zest flavor are noticeable and the Asparagus I am eating brings out an herbal, grassy hop character. This is not as hoppy as Dupont (though is that due to the unknown age of the beer), but still is significantly so. Rustic, earthy undertones that are not quite medicinal, nor overly phenolic, but definitely adds a complexity and tastiness that is so nice. A prickly, ample carbonation contributes to the spiciness as the beer dances across the tongue. Hints of a musty cellars and damp, slightly moldy cotton balls add some funky touches to this beer. The finish has a tannic quality to it with an astringency and there is also an expressive, but somewhat dirty, hop bitterness.

My Bolognese mussels accentuate a fruitiness in this beer; flavors of pear and apple become much more apparent and there is perhaps even some Sauvignon blanc like notes here as well. My last pour adds a touch of yeast bitterness that adds to the rusticity of this Saison. This is a perfect expression of a Farmhouse Saison; it is even a touch more rustic than Dupont. A really fantastic beer that easily pairs seamlessly with the meal I just ate. There is just enough of a rustic edge to this beer and the other notes of hops, pale-malt goodness and oodles of yeast character makes for an awesome experience.

Drank on day 2 of the 2010 Mondial de la Bière. Pretty misty blonde, average head. Malty aroma of fresh grass, touch of hops. Dry taste, crisp pale malt, a dry bitter aftertaste. It’s good, if you like it dry!
