Draught at ZBF 2009. Hazy yellow coloured with a medium sized white head. Fruity aroma of yeast with notes of hay and spices. Fruity flavour of wallonian barnyard, yeast and hops. Hoppy and spicy finish.

Bottle after a disapointing pour of Fantome La Dalmatienne. 75cl bottle from Alvinne shop, thanks for the recomendation Glenn. Clear, light straw, almost golden yellow color with nice medium to large white head. Aroma is slightly grainy, citrus hops, typical biere de garde aroma. Flavor is yeast, grain, citrus hops, orange, somewhat grassy. Medium to light, fizzy body. I don’t know how this is not considered a biere de garde. It is more hoppy than a typical saison/biere de garde though. Very sessionable.

UPDATED: JAN 20, 2009 75cl bottle at home, iRate: first glass pours very clear polished gold with tall fading white head. Nice spicy and hoppy (mainly grassy) aroma. Citrus peel and yeast blend in perfectly. Slight mineral and pale malt. Yeast character is quite powerful, but smooth. Faint toasted bread adds some more complexity. Flavor starts out with a grainy spice before a nice deep hop bitterness rolls in. Spice is there throughout and gets stronger towards the finish. Lightly bready. Grassy and lightly metallic hop finish with dried dark spices and alcohol on the back of the throat. Medium mouthfeel with dry finish. Quite enjoyable. A new classic.

Bottle. Hazy golden with a steady head. Intensely fruity aroma with orange zest and pears. Orange zest and spices flavours, the latter steadily more towards the finish. Medium body. A bit spicy, but quite enjoyable.

Cloudy urine colored like when you have a bladder infection. Aroma is better than that, though. Flavor is lightly spiced with a slightly bitter, dry finish.

(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of plovmand. Very hazy pale golden with lots of floaties and a white head. Spicy aroma with a little yeast. Medium body, sweetish malt and fruit with an astringent bitter finish. Mediocre. 230808

Dégustée chez Novabirra. Saison dorée, très aromatique, amertume prononcée, nez d’agrumes, mousse légère et compacte rafraîchissante.

Bottle, thx to plovmand. It pours a quite hazy yellowish-golden body with micro-floaties, and a small, white head. Fruity and lemony nose, slightly dusty. A bit lemony flavor, dusty notes, with pale malt, resin, some apple or pear and a pleasant bitterness. Medium body and a bitter finish. Sure, it’s a drinkable beer but it didn’t suit my palate. Would love to try it again though, as it seems most other people enjoy it. (080823)

no surprises with the cloudy style, it’s not filtered. The nose is quite perfect, the hops are really strongs, and it’s impossible to avoid to drink it... Palate is well balanced, alcool is not too much present, nor the spices, but of course as there is no spices... the flavours came from the hops, and they are really impressives... damn, that beer is quite perfect for bitter lovers...

Botella. Thanks Plovmand. Unclear golden with small floaties. Lovely fruity sweet malty aroma with some alcohol. Quite good a mouthfeel. Flavour of fruity hops with malt and a pleasant mild bitterness and a soft sweetness.
