Bottle at home, with big props to Glouglouburp. Thanks as always, Dany! Pours clear pale straw green, huge pillowy thick white head, stunning lacing. A solid 5 for appearance, no question. Nose is very spicy, and lightly phenolic, which isn’t a complaint, mind you. Hop notes are faded as I expected, but still present, and appropriate. This dances down a fine line between spicy and floral, and manages to be wonderfully both at once. Just a wonderful nose. Flavours are not quite as nice as the aroma - a touch on the dried-out and plasticky side, but beneath that, the appropriate creaminess and delicatre perfume can be found. Sweet stonefruit and winter fruits. Just lovely stuff.

On tap at Moeder Lambic Fonteinas. It poured a hazy yellow liquid with a creamy white head. Strong smell of citrus with some soap, yeast and sourly fruity. Taste of citrus, yeast, fruits, apples, yeast and some sour fruits. The citrus takes over the smell but the taste was really nice.

On tap at Moeder Lambic Fontainas during last week’s trip to Belgium. Reviewed from notes.
Served in a Jandrain-Jandrenouille goblet.
Pours a nice golden-straw color with an enormous foamy white head that refuses to fade and leaves thick clingy lacing all the way down the sides of the glass. One of the best-looking beers I have come across.
The nose brings forward a bit of light pepper and a good dosing of hops. Good floral hopping there. Straw and a bit of light fruit and pair. Really complex and interesting. Beautiful blend of malt, hops, and yeast.
Light body and very dry finish. Fairly bitter. Really a tremendous saison. Most impressive.
