Tap in Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Light yellow in colour, obviously with a huge head. Lightly hoppy, slightly spritzy mouth feel, fruity, medium dry. Quite clean, not as much of a yeasty feel as I’d perhaps been looking for. Nice but unexceptional.

Relatively new saison with thick, moussy, delicate, sticky, light yellowish head and deep colour of ’old gold’, clear at first but gradually becoming more hazy as more from the bottle is added and eventually a cloudy peach blonde. Aroma of sweet pale malts, pickles, orange juice, cheese spread, gooseberries, vanilla, cucumber, flowers, sorrel. Mineral-like onset with soft carbonation, restrained fruitiness, malty with a strong, peppery, grassy hop bitterness emerging rapidly, bit of sourishness too, merging into a long and dry, complex finish. Something in between a saison and an IPA and, like everything else from this humble brewery, a fascinating and idiosyncratic brew.

Keg at 2014 GBBF. Translucent yellow straw coloured pour with light white head. Aroma is Belgian yeast, wheat and light earthy citrus hop. Very fresh and clean. Flavour is saison yeast, floral honeysuckle, wheat. And citrus. Very balanced and drinkable. Very tasty. Palate is crisp, wheaty.

Some hay and light citrus with a small amount of funk. Touch of sweetness and sourness, but generally more bitter. A dry saison that leans towards the haystack aromas. Pours golden with good head and lacing. Tap at Pizzeria Paradiso Dupont.

I find it subtle, too so. There ate some nice grass notes and it's very dry on the finish. Very sessionable. Slight grapefruit.

Draft at GBD in Washington DC. I missed this at Pizzeria Paradiso Dupont, so I was glad to see it at GBD. Poured a golden yellow color, hazy hue, straw. Head was medium, creamy white head. Grassy, wheat, light citrus notes. Very refreshing. Enjoyable.

Bottle. Aroma is extremely well balanced. Has the saison barnyard aroma complemented with nice hop aroma. I think of Nelson Sauvin. Hazy yellow to golden colour. The taste has the same balance as aroma. Some citrus fruits Finishes with slight citrusy sourness. Bonus points for wonderful hoppy balance. Very tasty beer.
