750 ml bottle. A hazy dark golden beer with a large, almost creamy, fully lating and lacing white head. The aroma is nicely hoppy with a good malt background and notes of flowers, herbs, orange, lemon, grapefruit, pineapple, some spices. The flavour is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Again, like the VCense a cross between Belgian and American school. Near medium body, lively carbonation, vry long finish with medium to high bitterness. I’d have preferred a more strong body and this is not the best season to enjoy this kind of stuff, but this beer is great and balanced.

Jan 2, 2010 Pour is a blond with a large pillowy white head. Aroma is of pale malts, a nice citrusy hops and some pepper. Flavor is again agressive up front hops with some raisons and a pleasant sweet malt after the swallow. No real brett in this one as the hops are the main focus here. A west coast saison? Still this is a pretty nice beer and a different take on the style.

Dec 31, 2009 My final rating of 2009 - I figured I would go out on my favorite style - lively pour - hazy - honey-colored - thick, fairly well-sustained head - tangy grapefruit hits the nose first - a decent dose of hops for the style - light yeast, wildflower honey, a mild, rustic earthiness - quite spicy, peppery, and hoppy flavor - fairly dry and flinty, with the exception of a slight honey sweetness on the tail end, that quickly gets swallowed back up by the hops - some floral notes far in the back, a touch of dried herbs - wheat and toasted grains - some pils malt character in the finish - quite bitter, but the dryness really makes it work - it’s no Dupont, but it’s might good.

Dec 26, 2009 25.4 oz bottle. Hazy gold with a white froth then a coating. Nose is honey, lemon and pineapple. Medium light with sparkling carb and a creamy finish. Taste is subtly sweet pear, dough and lemon peel. Wonderful saison; spot on.

Nov 29, 2009 Sampled 10/26/2009. This saison pours a medium orange gold color from a 750ml bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, orange and orange peel. Bright and yeasty. A medium bodied saison. The malts are fruity and sweet, nice citrusy and flavor flavors. Crisp, clean and light, yet has a nice full mouthfeel. Nice dry finish. This beer went very well with the Thanksgiving meal. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Nov 28, 2009 75 cL bottle, courtesy of fonefan. Pours hazy orange with a huge white head, slowly collapsing. Aroma is distinct citrus and floral hoppy with a light yeasty note. Smooth - almost velvet like mouthfeel and hops fruity flavours mixed with mellow yeasty notes. Smooth fruity and bitter flavoured finish yet with a light sweet impression into the far finish.

Nov 28, 2009 Bottle. Golden color. Lemon, grapefruit and grassy and oily hops in the aroma. Firm leathery grassy hopbitter flavor with citrus and herbal notes. Hints of pepper and cerdemom. Excellent well balanced saison.
