750ml bottle. Pours a clear, shiny golden hue with a proud head of smooth, off-white froth. Settling slowly to a moderately ramped ring with a thin skin at the center, the head leaves behind a soapy wash that dries to round, wet flares and spots of lacing. The nose is nicely balanced, showing a malt base of clean, lightly honey-glazed cereal that is countered with dry, spicy yeast, peppery grass hops, and perfumy flowers. A hint of graham cracker comes to mind as well. Similarly, flavors show semi-sweet cereal and dessert cracker malts, perhaps a touch of caramel, all balanced by sharp, dry spices, merigold flowers, white pepper, and bitter grasses. The bitterness actually begins to assert dominance on the back end, as the malts dry out and some of the honey character fades away. Moderate in body, carbonation is fine but lively, tickling the tongue and drying the roof of the mouth quite extensively. Overall, it’s a very nice, mostly dry, spicy saison. Good stuff.

On draught at La Porte Noire. Pours a dark amber colour with a fair white head. Aroma of caramel, grassy hops and alcohol. Similar flavours and mildly bitter with mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Caramel is quite prominent all round with a little liquorice to finish.

Keg at North Bar. Vivid orangey yellow, thin bubbly white head. Nice rich yeasty nose, Parma violets, bubblegum, tangerine with a slightly earthy funk too. Slightly sweet front, but not overly so. Soft orange peel, resinous passionfruit flavours, Parma violets, just a little brett earthiness. Surprisingly big bitterness. Very resinous, hint of alcohol warmth too. Nice.

Keg at North Bar, Leeds. Pours a slightly hazy gold, small head. Aroma is very tangeriney, with some parma violet and Belgian esters. Taste is slightly muted but very nicely balanced - floral, esters, some fruitiness and a hint of perfume. Crisp and dry, yet very refreshing. Subtle and interesting - I like.

Bottle... Poured golden/amber with an eggy, frothy head. This bottle may have had some age. It was pleasant with honey sweetness, faint, reminiscent hops, and some yeast spice esters.

Bottle. Very pale, yellow liquid worth small to medium white head. Aroma of noble hops, wheat, pilsner malt, white pepper, funk and Belgian yeast esters. Taste is dry and light to medium bitter with notes of wheat and lemon peel. Light to medium bodied with high carbonation. Refreshing and well balanced saison.

Several 10oz pours at Pizza Paradiso Georgetown. Hazy, yellow gold, with a frothy, creamy white head. Nose is nice, very approachable, hay, grass, wheat, slightly estery, a distinct minerality, floral, honey, light citrus. Flavor is the same, chrysanthemum, light doughy, crackers, wheat, grass, light citrus. Finish is refreshing, dry, lightly chalky. Loved this.

Ottima saison. Aroma che ricorda a tratti la paglia bagnata. Al palato risulta equilibrata e un pò più luppolata delle altre della categoria. Niente da dire, grande birra.

Draft at Churchkey. Hazy doughy pour with a magnanimous frothy head. Nose is absolutely lovely, with floral orchid notes, touches of lemon and dough, and a beautiful, subtle tart dryness. Flavor is much of the same, with a crisp medium effervescence and awesome lingering complexity of yeast, light citrus, and flowers. Delicious.
