Bottle: Poured a clear deep copper/orangey color ale with a medium foamy head with average retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of light funky ester with some typical Belgian malt. Taste is less complex then anticipated with some funky ester and light semi-sweet Belgian malt. Light dry hops are very subtle and somewhat hard to distinguish. Body is somewhat full with average carbonation and no alcohol is detectable. Not too bad but not as complex as I had hoped for.

Keg at North Bar, Leeds. Pours a reddish brown, no head. Aroma is caramel, some dark fruits but with an apricot thing as well, hint of booze. Taste is surprisingly different, with caramely malt up front, a hint of eater, with some bitterness and a nice tart touch as well. A bit thin bodied. Really rather nice, subtle.

Keg at North Bar. Slightly hazy reddish brown, thin white head. Nice dry, funky nose - rye, Madeira cake, raisin, figs even? Nicely soft and juicy, some earthy woody notes, dried fruits, hints at caramel malts and even a slight tartness. Finishes dry and woody, and just slightly bitter. Nice and complex.

750mL bottle. Definitely not what I was expecting. Kinda more sour than I was expecting. Spicy and sourish, not too and.

Clear amber colour, off-white head. Aroma of mandarins, citrus peel, light chocolate, light madeira, light caramel. Malty, light sweet flavour, light bitter, quite dry, light cloying. Dry but cloying, dry bitter finish.
Nice name, lovely aromas. A well made, complex beer.

Tap at Moeder Fontainas. Amber brown in colour, this is quite an unexpected beer. Dry, with reddish malts and a good bitter finish. Not sure saison is the most helpful description of this beer - more like the dry and hoppy red/amber ales the craft guys make here in England. Looked at this way was a bit of a poor return on 7%.

Bottle from Knightly Spirits. Reddish-brown color with an off-white head that settles as a very thin layer. Big whiffs of cranberry here. Reminds me of cranberry sauce. That’s followed by some orange juice, pomegranate, and a little alcohol fumes. Fruit punch and cocktail flavors. Again, cranberry seems to lead the way. Nuts, plums, raisins, figs, chocolate, and a little funky yeast, all noted as well. It’s an interesting concoction. While I really liked the other two I tried from this brewer, I can’t say I really liked this one. Plenty drinkable, though. Just not really what I look for in a Saison.
