3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
75cl bottle opened as revanche for their last-minute cancellation @ZBF 2013 - Elegant and somewhat mysterious looking dark label that not nearly betrays a summer ale this refreshing. Pours a milky and bit watery straw yellow with short head. Fresh citrus nose with undefineable exotic and wit yeast undertones. Very light palate, tastes cleaner than other wits due to spices/oranges replaced by (mildly dosed) US hops (Yakima Chief Simcoe, anyone?). Imagine a Blanche de Namur as an entry level saison, thirst quenching and with unnoticeable 6 abv. -

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Apex, pours a cloudy yellow with a medium white head. Aroma of wheat upfront, light citrus and some rustic qualities. Flavour is full of wheat and rustic qualities, and light Belgian yeast. Very light and restrained on the palate and thirst-quenching. Great stuff.

Not so special as I expected. I thought this was going to be better because of the status but was quite incipit and with few aroma.

Bottled, thanks Bov! Hazy pale orange, very little carbonation and minimal head. Tangerine aroma with some marzipan. Mid sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Custard and tangeri9e, hay and spicy, some yeasty marzipan. Juicy with mid bit bitter finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared by Thorpe429. Thanks Mike.
The beer is light yellow and fairly hazy with a small white head. The aroma is hop forward with floral and herbal notes. Good flavor, with a blend of hop, herbal, and floral notes. Light bodied with low carbonation. The beer could use a bit more carbonation to enhance the feel and support the overall flavor. Overall, this was drinkable and enjoyable. Easy to get through a snifter of this. Could use some minor improvements and tweaks. Pretty good.

Tap. Foamy white head on a hazy light yellow orange. Grassy, oranges, sour wheatiness in the aroma. Flavor is tart citrus, some herbal and citrusy hops, grassy, and tangy. Softer body with zippy carbonation. Solid

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle (BB Mar 30, 2016).
Head is initially large, frothy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is hazy dark yellow, bottle conditioned.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs), lightly yeasty (cobwebs, basement), with notes of lemon zest, pepper, gum, apple/pear.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, velvety/watery texture, lively carbonation.
A very nice quaffer, very saison-like...quite dry in the finish but nicely balanced at the front. Aroma is bright, floral, lemony...very enjoyable and keeps you coming back for more sips. Very clean. Not quite a 4+ blockbuster, but maybe it is in fresher form?

750ml bottle. From start to finish the presence of understated simcoe hops becomes a familiar touchstone, but this felt like a beer of two halves. The first pour was a clear gold in which the light wheaty crunch comes through in the taste. The second pour is much hazier and more of a showcase for Belgian spices and light tropical fruitiness. Lacking in wow factor but makes up for it by being exceedingly drinkable and refreshing.
