COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pale by name, but certainly not nature, this impressive Pale Ale is our flagship beer. Carefully crafted using a blend of the world’s finest 2-row barley malts, classic American Cascade hops and a true US ale yeast, this robust and flavoursome beer for those who enjoy crisper, bitter ales. True to style (like all our beers), it exhibits a full-bodied, biscuit-like complex flavour, guaranteed to impress.

Golden/amber pour with a nice head. Big fruity aroma, mainly grapefruit, but also some peach and pears. Sweet biscuit malt underneath with some caramel notes. Flavours include sweet malt up front, followed by green citrus hops and an assertive bitterness. I would have liked more crystal malt to balance it out. Good body but waaay too much carbonation, needs to be sorted out!

Rich and thick orange texture with a decent head. Citrus over a very malty base with a big dash of salt at the end. Globules look great. Good effort.

In the bottle (several of em). Good lookin stuff considering its aussie. They’re still a bit unsure exactly what a pale ale is but its getting there. Far too malty for a pale ale, but still enjoyed it. Seriously frothy stuff, almost explosive even when properly cooled (and not shaken). Aroma is appropriate for the whole package. I’d be far more interested in having this draught as it’l probably smooth out the rough edges and be a far better drink.

UPDATED: AUG 25, 2008 RE-RATE: Bottle (330ml). Poured muddy orangey bronze with a large, rocky, off-white head, which lasted very well. Aroma was of fruity/piney hops with passionfruit, apricots, mangos, pineapple, light grassy notes and some caramel malts. Flavor was a good fruity hop bitterness that puckers the mouth with mangos, grapefruit, light melon notes, dry caramel malts and a resiny finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, a dry mouthfeel and a great finish. I would have to say this is my favorite Australian brewed APA to session at the moment, it just never seems to disappoint.

I’d gush about this beer, but it beat me to it. All over the kitchen workbench. That’ll teach me to crack an unfamiliar micro without a glass on stand-by. It calmed down in the chalice, revealing itself to be a murky bronze colour with a lavish cafe-creme head that lasted well. Lovely peachy aroma with some sharp pine needles and chocolate fudge. Very nice indeed. Classic US APA mix of toffee malts and bitter tropical fruits. Quite herbal. Love to know the IBUs on this - very good bitterness for an Oz APA at this abv. Chewy mouthfeel. Quite a heavy feel to it, with some astringency in a phlegmy finish. Plenty of hops in this. Enjoyed it a lot. Nice work, fellas. (330ml bottle from Randwick Village Cellars. BB 31/12/07)

Opens with a massive gush all over my desk, colour is dark amber and the head retention is terrible. Sweet aroma, lots of caramel and nutty malts... smells way fuller than the advertised 4.7%. Full malty body, more so that LCPA. Flavours of peach, grapefruit, a slight harsh hop note caramel and pine nuts also appear in there. Finish is nice and full, again surprising me with the low abv. Its very much like Bling IPA in my opinion, and that by no means is a bad thing.

330ml bottle. Light roasted malts on the nose, slightly nutty with a dose of piney stonefruit-like hop character. Pours a clean orange gold body with fluffy white lace. Full bodied, reasonably dry bitter finish. Good hop presence on the body, woody pine, grapefruit, peach, with a nice bit of underlying biscuity toffee malt. Another Little Creatures clone I dare say, but a decent attempt.
