COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Honey Brown Ale is a true American-style brown ale comprised of pale, caramel and chocolate malts. In addition, we add local “wildflower” honey during the fermentation process, which gives this beer its unique flavor profile. It allows us to retain the flavor of the honey without becoming too sweet, thus ensuring a smooth drinkability. The rich honey characteristic adds to the creaminess of the beer and gives it a quality like no other.

Had this beer on 10/21/2000. Aroma is a sweet cidery scent. Color is a deep amber with light carbonation and head. Taste is dry nutty and roasted. Starting with a light medium body it goes down crisp. Finish is a deep roasted flavor that ends with a dry feel. It’s more like a nut brown than a honey.

12 oz Bottle from Jimbowood, I think. Pours a watery brown color. Has that faint smell that makes you say "uh oh". Taste is watery, plain, lifeless, with a hint of honey. The honey flavor actually gives this beer a bit of sourness to it. Overall, pretty much undrinkable. Poured most of it down the drain.

Only 11 ratings so far in the last 4 years?! Wow!... I received a bottle of this in a trade as a bonus from kenb. Thanks Ken! -- Jarre Creek Ranch Honey Brown Ale is dark amber in color and clear. It has a fizzy tan head that bubbles away quickly. Aroma is sweet malt and light honey. Flavor is slightly sour caramel malt and a touch of sweet honey. Short roasted nut finish. Light bodied. Mouthfeel is thin and watery. Reminds me of some of the Tommyknocker brews which makes sense since this is brewed and bottled by them... 12 oz bottle ("Enjoy within 4 months of date notched." -- June 9, 2006).

12 oz Bottle at the Hyatt Bar in Denver. Light sweet malt in the aroma. Red/Brown with a thin bubbly tan head. Fore is quite metallic and is followed by sweet toasty malts. That metallic flavor never fades and gets damned annoying. somewhat watery feel and flavor.

Bottle. Pours dark caramel and nutty brown with a small frothy tan head, somewhat diminishing. Aroma is sour caramel malt (meal, grain), yeast (sweat, dough, grass) and faint chocolate. Sour malt and yeast, hay, straw, grass, medium bitterness, mild acidity and sweetness. Light bodied, some fizziness but overall kind of flat.

Bottle: You can almost see through this brownie. Interesting aroma of roasted egg farts, soil, and barley. Almost porterish in taste which I haven’t seen in a brown ale before. It has the smoky flavor of a porter followed by the honey sweetness of the brown ale. The feel is thin and leaves a nutty sweetness coating in your mouth. Thanks Indiana_Red!

Bottle pours a deep clear dark brown with a small light tan head and coarse, spotty lacing. Aroma is of lightly roasted malts and some honey swetness. Slightly sour porterish twang as well. Flavor is lightly roasted malts agin, with a leathery, woody componant. Very little hops or bittering, per the style. Softly carbonated and quite thin almost water feel. Thanks to <!B>Kenb<!-- /B --> for the trade.

UPDATED: AUG 15, 2006 12 oz bottle from Arctic Liquors beer of the Month shipment. Dark brown hazy color. Large dense head. Lots of lace. Sweet malty honey aroma. Very mild honey malt taste. Light body. Well carbonated . Sweet and mellow. Great for hot afternoon session beer. No lingering aftertaste. Better than Dundee’s honey brown. I could see people who like really mild brews enjoying this one.
