A popular South Tyneside brewery has launched a new beer to celebrate the world premiere of a play by South Shields playwrights Ed Waugh and Trevor Wood, writers of the international hit comedies Dirty Dusting and Waiting For Gateaux. The Jarrow Brewery, which specialises in real ales, has revealed Maggie’s End, a 5 per cent bitter, to mark the duo’s latest full comedy play that has as its starting point the death of Margaret Thatcher.

Cask (handpump) at the Market Porter, Southwark. Mid gold colour. No head. Faintly fruity aroma. Mainly citric flavour. Clean mouthfeel. Easy drinking for a relatively strong bitter but nothing really stood out.
