2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - FEB 1, 2012
First tasted this in the Three Judges, Glasgow in October 2003. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale garnet in colour with a thin creamy white head. Slight hint of roast grain in the short aroma. Thin but creamy mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a weak maltloaf base with raisin fruit and molasses. Slight spicy prickle of hop resins in the short aftertaste. A sweet winey overipe fruit finish with tart grape skins evident. An ok session bitter.
