3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Martin243 (476) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - JAN 12, 2013
1/2 at the Robin Hood Jarrow. Clear bright gold, white head. Straw and honey aroma. Quite a mellow honey and butterscotch flavour, without being at all cloying. Definitely a premium bitter. The finish is bitter enough, but not as astrigently bitter as an IPA, which means this a nicely balanced, moreish beer.

Cask at Southampton Arms, London on 26th January 2011. Yellowy gold; thin, dying ring of foam. Sweetish aroma with berry fruits. Fruitiness and sweet caramel notes in-mouth and a rather sweet endtaste. Disappointing as an IPA.

Cask, The Crown, Nuneaton. Notes make no mention of appearance: presumably an invisible beer. Faint piney orange hop aroma with antiseptic dabs. Slight gelatinous lemon, watery orange hop, disinfectant, mealy afters with wheat and apricot. OK, not IPA.
