50cl bottle, pours gold with small lacy white head. Nose: gingery, hops, a little honey. Crisp dry palate, more ginger, buttery malt and grassy hops, a little pear in the background, finishes gently bitter and dry. Quite light bodied and refreshing.

On cask at Cloisters. Pours a blonde colour with a fair white head. Aroma of hay and barley with lemon citrus notes. Similar flavours with a nice dry finish. OK.

Scopey (1672) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 3, 2011
Cask at CP&K. It pours clear straw yellow, with a thin foamy white head and no carbonation. The nose is Weetabix, floral, white bread and mild cheddar cheese. The taste is straw, weak lemon, metal, hay, butter and white bread, with a light bitter finish. Bland and boring.

Cask at Southampton Arms, London on 26th January 2011. Yellowy gold; thin, dying ring of foam. Sweetish aroma with berry fruits. Fruitiness and sweet caramel notes in-mouth and a rather sweet endtaste. Disappointing as an IPA.

30th June 2010. On tap at the Kings Head freehouse, Tollesbury Essex. Clear gold beer, not much of a head. Light palate. Appley nose. Sweet apples, a little pear and orange. Light finish. No real hop notes. Seems a bit green but tastes okay.

DruncanVeasey (5150) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - AUG 1, 2009
Cask, The Crown, Nuneaton. Notes make no mention of appearance: presumably an invisible beer. Faint piney orange hop aroma with antiseptic dabs. Slight gelatinous lemon, watery orange hop, disinfectant, mealy afters with wheat and apricot. OK, not IPA.

GNome (40) - Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 8, 2008
Bottle, Batch 1933. Really disappointed with this beer - only recently bottled, best before Dec 2009. Antiseptic and cidery aroma and taste. Poured hazy, not sure if it was bottle conditioned. Poor beer from a very good brewery.
