3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A delicious and different stout. Aroma was OK, but a little disappointing. If you put your nose right into the glass you can pick up some dark chocolate and hints of sour cherries. You have to search for it, though. Pour was a nice deep dark brown/black with a thin tan ring for a head. Taste was one of those beers that’s good cold, but great as it warms. Thick and chewy dark chocolate is balanced out by a tart cherry flavor. Hints of coffee come out, but never overpower the cherry. The aftertaste is very bitter and the flavor of cherry syrup linger. Very nice and very different.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Definitely one of the better cherry stouts I’ve had. Pours deep black with nice fluffy tan head, big bubbles but laced and lasted well. Aroma has notes of lots of cherry, dark chocolate powder, and vanilla, as advertised, also has some notes of roasted malt, toffee and caramel. Taste is creamy, carbed perfectly to go through the palate, nice chocolate, coffee and toffee beginning, sweet cherry and chocolate in the middle, with a nice roasted slightly dry finish. Maybe a touch of booze, but doesn’t detract in any way. Great beer!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours black as oil with small head. You can definitely smell and taste the cherry. Chocolate notes are also noticeable. Velvet on the tongue and slight warming from the ABV?

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours solid black with very small tan head. Smells of cherries, chocolate, and roasted malts (duh). Strong cherry notes with a chocolaty background, don’t taste the vanilla much. Overall a great stout, that is what it says it is.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
A: The pour is deep, dark, and black. There is a finger of tan head to go with it.
S: Smells a little bit like cherries, but there is also pretty heavy char and roast to it. Slightly tart with a hint of metal to it. The vanilla doesn’t really come through, unfortunately. A touch of booze.
T: Cherries, roast, and a bit of booze. Again, not much in the way of vanilla. Pretty sweet, however, with lots of chocolate flavor to it. Little bit of molasses and toffee sweetness as well.
M: Medium in body with a smooth carbonation and mouthfeel.
O: Really disappointing. This beer sounded excellent in concept, but it didn’t live up to expectations.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The aroma is as promised: cherries, dark chocolate, roasted malts. The appearance is a lovely jet black, fluffy tan head. The flavor is cherry, dark chocolate, some roast (not as much as in the aroma), molasses. The finish is sweet cherries and chocolate, roastiness, light pine hop bittering. Medium/thick to thick in body, creamy mouthfeel. Very nicely done.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
pours near black with dark brown cap. smells wonderful...immediately hit with a mix of tart cherry (which comes out more as the beer opens up), dark cocoa, roasted malt, and a bit of vanilla. little hop presence, but the beer does taste bitter from the cocoa...there’s lots of it. silky smooth feel at 7+%. the flavor pulls off a delicate blend of sweet, roasty, tart, and decadent, without being thick or cloying. very sessionable for the type of beer this is. vwey well done!"

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours fairly black, thin head. Nose is faint so I can’t say much about it. Flavors are nicely integrated with both the chocolate and cherry coming through nicely in a chocolate covered cherry type way. Nothing crazy complex but it is nicely thick for the relatively low abv yet at the same time, quite drinkable as well. No weird off-flavors aka stone house character, at least not that I can detect, though I think a beer with stones name on it that escapes the plague of stone house character always gets extra points to me whether it deserves it or not. But here...its an average beer with no major faults, which is good for stone.
