Volgon (2458), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Dec 21, 2003 On tap at the brewpub. Black/brown with a tan head. Roasted malts aroma, rich and bold taste. Smooth and creamy in the mouth. Really nice porter. jjpm74 (2882), Connecticut, USA Mar 28, 2005 Out of the bottle. Pours a dark brown with a small head that lingers. Taste is of roasted malts, coffee and raisins. Some sweet caramel notes are present towards the finish. Nice. MaiBockAddict (1499), Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey, USA Apr 10, 2005 Tap at the inn. Dark brown, thin tan head. Roasty carmel aroma. Roasty malty flavor. Maybe just a tad thin. Roasty finish. Low on the hops. Very clean. hopdog (4525), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 8, 2006 22oz bottle acquired in trade with jjpm74 (thanks!). Bottle notched ’Oct’. Poured a dark, dark brown color with a huge (5 finger) off white head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malts, and also got some dark fruits. Tastes of roasted malts, dark fruits, very light chocolate, with light coffee in the finish. This one was definitely on the sweeter side. With the huge head, I expected the body to be over carbonated but it wasn’t. dirtymike (2019), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Jun 22, 2003 Good porter,as a sidenote I was amused to see exactly how small the the brewhouse is in Norwich that produces this beer.I bought this from the Norwich Inn on a off day for the brewpub, they made me pay for it inside then go outside and around the building to a side door, where they handed me my beer through a side door with a bottom partion closed(Vermont Blue Laws?)Dark brown, with a tan head that smelled slightly roasted and nutty.Flavor was balanced well, leaniong slightly to the sweeter side.
