COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Cognac barrel aged version of Jean Chris Numero 2 which was brewed at Sainte Hélène by Christoph Gillard, the owner of Mi-Orge Mi-Houblon and Jean Francois Vaux of Jean Le Chocolatier. Limited to approx. 700 bottles of 37.5 ml each.

[ Bottle # 8/300 ]. Clear dark black colour with a large, frothy to creamy, excellent lacing, fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, light to moderate chocolate, smoke, oak - peat. Flavour is light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, wood - oak, chocolate, dark roasted, sweet cognac. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. IMO. very good balanced and very good .. well done Christoph & Jean. [20120915]

Clear dark black colour with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good to excellent lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, moderate hoppy, light wood. Flavour is light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, chocolate, wood, salty licorice, sweet cognac. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Again, very good and balanced .. [20121005]

75 cL bottle. Pours hazy to pitch black with a small tan and creamy head. Aroma is smooth, alcohol and vineous cognac. Dark malty. Smooth fruity, winous and light wooden to mouldy. Dark malty to dark chocolate. Dense bitter. Sharp and precise, short finish. Smooth wineous. Sharp chocolate and bitter, dry and cognac warming alcohol finish.

UPDATED: APR 11, 2012 Bottled. A black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, cognac, roasted malt, annd chocolate. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt, chocolate, and a bit of cognac, leading to a dry and roasted finish. The flavor seizes fast.

Bottle @ Really late Summer Tasting Ulfborg, 2012. Bottle #8 /300. Pours nearly black with a creamy beige head. Nose is oak, cognac, dark fruit, vague roast and caramel. Flavor is wood, ashes, vague roast and caramel. Full bodied. Alcohol well hidden. Very enjoyable without being overly complex.

Bottle at Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Black - light brown head. Smokey, chocolate, high bitter chocolate, light boozy, nutty, red berries, vegetables, milkey notes, milk chocolate, smokey aroma.... light smokey taste, white sugar, wooden notes, light tartness. Nice.

Bottle, bought @ Moeder Lambic, St. Gilles.
Pours completely black with a nice, staying, creamy, beige head. Aroma has definite cognac notes, chocolate, mild roasted malts, nuts and mild oak. Medium carbonation, nice dry and creamy if somewhat light mouthfeel. Flavour has chocolate, cocoa, oaky dryness, nuts and lots of coffee. Soft, velvety and delicious with a long, dry and bitter finish.
