JefferSon Dubl Abbey Ale is inspired by the Belgian abbey beer, which is characteristic of their large mouth filling, mild slightly sweet flavor and high strength. Jefferson Dubl Abbey Ale has a mild sweetness from the many types of malt are used in this brew and a slightly bitter hop profile that makes this beer into a seductive pleasure. Jefferson Dubl Abbey Ale will be suitable for most meals and ideal for cheese and meat dishes.

The head is ok, the body orange-red and cloudy. It smells sour, sugary and syrup. The taste is very sour, malty, strange sweet-sour-fruity. Special but ok 12/10/10/11/13/10

Aroma and taste of malt, figs, brown sugar and raisins. The taste is a bit thin and watery. The alcohol is noticeable but not intrusive.

Labeled as a Belgian dubbel it tastes more as a Christmas beer. Despite the label saying nothing about added clove it has a slight taste of something x-macy. The aroma was dull but the taste much richer. Not awesome but good for the Christmas table I’m sure en lieu of the more aggressive brothers and sisters actually labeled as Christmas beers.

Surprisingly light coloured body: it’s medium to light amber and very cloudy. The small, off-white head is extremely short-lived, and is reduced to a very thin layer long before I’m done with my aroma notes. Ok lacing. The aroma is a bit disappointing, it’s rather faint and lager-ish. It’s of course sweet malty with the suspected caramel, but also a nice honey sweetness, some fruits and spices. Medium sweet taste and a light to medium bitterness. Sweet malty flavours with a touch of alcohol, and also some hoppy notes. As the beer warms up I get raisins and more raisins. Medium to thin body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Ok beer, and a nice twist with the pronounced bitterness, but I’m not quite sure how well implemented the hoppy part actually was.

Thick and rather dense foam adorn the beer. Sweet and rich with a strong malt flavor. Nice beer but a little too sweet, but a super well made Danish Dubbel.

Hazy brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, light roasted malt, caramel, yeasty and spicy. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Sweet finish. 150110
