Commercial Description:
A classic American style pale ale. Medium-high bitterness with pronounced floral hop aroma and citrusy palate from Cascade hops. Caramel malts impart a toasty malt character with medium mouth feel and a deep amber color. 6% ABV

One of thier better beers so far. Pours a light copper with a nice lasting head. Aroma is citrusy- sometimes batches have more cascade aroma, but the last time I was there- it was more tropical- mango and very simcoe-like which was a nice change- malt backbone is light caramel and crisp. Flavor is crisp, clean ok carapils and light colored crystal, some toast, and decent hop flavors, citrus mango, tropical- clean and a decent bitter finish. Pretty standard well made APA.

Draugh, #504. Orange pour, awesome hop aroma. A bit off flavor, not too great, but decent beer.

On tap at the Virginia Beer Festival at Capital Ale House - Midlothian on 07/03/2009. Clear copper amber body with a small frothy pff-white head. Floral hop and malty aroma. Floral hop flavor with some malty notes and a bit of caramel. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Sampled at the Virginia Beer Festival. The dude there with the Jefferson Street t-shirt on definitely confirmed that this was the pale ale, they even had their little placard indicating it was the pale. The dude also mentioned that it was a "really, really pale ale." He wasn’t kidding, as I think a recipe change has taken place here. Very, very pale gold, almost to yellow, no caramel malts creating a deep amber here! Faint grapefruit aroma. Flavor is pale malts and faint grapefruit. Not bad, but a bit more body could have helped.

Part of a sampler at the brewery. The brewmaster said this was his favorite amongst the current offerings. He downed two pints of it at the bar while I was there, so I guess so! Pours a clear copper color with a large head. Average head retention and good lacing. Strong hops in the aroma... floral, citrus, pineapple and other fruits. Taste is bitter citrus hops, slight resin, light grain and caramel. Nicely balanced and the best beer they had at the time.
