COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cooter Brown was a family man who lived on the mason-dixon line during the civil war. He decided to stay inebriated for the entire war so that he would not need to pick a side. We salute his peaceful manner by naming our brew in his honor.

Jekyll Brewing’s Cooter Brown is an American Brown Ale that is smoother than silk. As you bring our Cooter Brown to your lips, you will smell deep roasty caramel notes as our creamy head embraces your stache. Once you taste Cooter Brown, you will experience a deep chocolate maltiness and an American hop bitterness balanced to perfection. 14.3° SRM 31.

It pours a very dark brown with a small quickly vanishing tan head. It has a toasty malt aroma and a aroma of nuts and a roasted aroma. It has a caramel taste, a roasted taste, a little toast flavor and some nut flavor. This is a pretty good beer. I’m glad I bought it and will try to drink more from this brewery in the future.

Serving: Draft at Crystal Beer Parlor. Dark brown pour with a decent off white head. There is a mild nuttiness in the nose with a bit of caramel and malt. Slightly sweet on the palate but a bit on the thin side. Solid caramel, nut, and light chocolate notes. Thought the bitterness could be a little more pronounced for the style.
