On draft. Really unusual nose for a brown ale: coffee. Lots of it. Also some roasted malt and o touch of hops. Very dark for a brown ale, almost black. The flavor is dark toasted malt and grassy hops with an espresso finish. Mouthfeel akin to a porter.

On tap at Hooligans. Dark brown pour with tan foamy head. Aroma of roasted coffee, dark cocoa, and hints if vanilla. Palate is overloaded with roasted malts, coffee grounds, and dark cocoa. Pretty light and enjoyable.

Jekyll Brewing continues to be the most promising new brewery in Georgia. They are now 2 for 2 on beers I have tried. This brew pours a light-deep brown, if that makes sense. Roasted coffee and chocolate aromas pervade. An earthy sweet flavor gives way to a slightly bitter finish. Medium body with appropriate carbonation. Please start bottling soon. Pours a dark-chocolate brown with a light buttery tan head. Aroma has firm caramel, woody, horehound and malty notes. Rich flavor floods the palate with notes of caramel, cloves, horehound, chocolate and a hint of molasses. firm texture is quite fizzy and leaves a pleasing finish.

This beer takes the American Brown Ale category to new heights. Very smooth with a roasted chocolate profile. Even if you aren't a Brown Ale fan, you should give this one a try... You might become one.
