COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cooter Brown was a family man who lived on the mason-dixon line during the civil war. He decided to stay inebriated for the entire war so that he would not need to pick a side. We salute his peaceful manner by naming our brew in his honor.

Jekyll Brewing’s Cooter Brown is an American Brown Ale that is smoother than silk. As you bring our Cooter Brown to your lips, you will smell deep roasty caramel notes as our creamy head embraces your stache. Once you taste Cooter Brown, you will experience a deep chocolate maltiness and an American hop bitterness balanced to perfection. 14.3° SRM 31.

Pours a very dark stout brown with a creamy light brown tight head. Aroma of deep roasted smokey malt with a hint of caramel sweetness. Taste of smooth chocolate malt with a nice roasted coffee taste that finished with just a touch of herbal hop bitterness to round out the end. Med to heavy body that is creamy with a slight short bitter finish. Overall well balanced brown with a nice depth of flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Conyers, Ga. - Mellow Mushroom - on tap. Sparkling dark copper pour, mediumm thick khaki colored head. Aroma is somewhat neutral with light sweet toffee notes. Flavor is full of sweetness with nice toffee notes, some toffee notes, a dollop of brown sugar and just a hint of date fruitiness. Decent stickiness to the mouthfeel. Pleasant diversion.

12 oz bottle served in a snifter. Pours clear dark brown with a small tan head that soon reduces to a partial coat. The aroma is a bit weak and earthy for style. The flavor is better. It seems like an average borwn ale until the finish and aftertaste where a more generous portion of hops becomes evident.

Aroma - metallic with a little hops and sweet malt Appearance - chocolatey brown, ruby when held to light. Nice light tan head. Taste - smooth malt, a little coffee, caramel and toffee with hops on the finish Mouthfeel - light palate with prickly bubbles Overall - not bad for a fairly young brewery ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 ounce bottle from Ale Yeah. Big brown pour. Taste is a nice thick chocolate. Not as much in the nose, but there in body for sure.

Bottle from Five Points Bottle Shop (Atl. Hwy). Light chocolate nose. Thick brown color, low head. Mild chocolate roast initial / touch of brown sugar in mid / balanced finish, with mostly the sweet roast continuing. Nice and normal. A tasty brown ale, kind of edging toward an oatmeal stout.

On tap at the Wild Wing Cafe in Alpharetta. Pours very dark brown, with a small, off-white head. The aroma is caramel, chocolate pudding, espresso, and burnt toast. Burnt and caramelized sweetness, heavy bitterness, and an odd, funky sour aftertaste. Heavy body, thick, and a little acidic. Overall, this is a strong, almost stout-like, brown ale, but the hopping is a little over the top, and the finish is rather unpleasant.

Pint glass pour at the Public House in downtown Savannah. Very dark brown pour with a heavy off-white head. Head lasted a few minutes. Nice lacing as well. Aroma of roasted nuts, caramel, toffee, dark chocolate and vanilla. The taste was extremely malty with heavy roast, caramel, wood, nut, and peat. Silky smooth. Full body. Finish is chocolate and wood. Very good brown ale.
