COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Hop Dang Diggity Southern IPA will give you a full nose of Georgia pine aroma while the malty backbone provides for a perfectly balanced sweetness. Hopped up like a one legged chicken, this is not your standard “economical” IPA.

It is entirely likely that you may choose to not drink this IPA, but only breathe in it’s wonderful aromas... snap out of it and take a sip. Not too dry, but having just the right amount of sweetness to balance the bitter, then finishing with a refreshing clean that begs for the next taste. This hoppy style pairs well with any of your favorite spicy foods. 16° SRM 8.1 L

16 ounce pint - Mellow Mushroom in Sandy Springs, Georgia.

Appearance: Coppery body with a tinge of orange to the hue. Modestly hazed. Slim, white head.

Smell: Slim, scant maltiness offers few aromatics, with the bulk of the nose being made up of subtly pithy, resiny hops.

Taste: Starts with a dry pale maltiness, a little crackery accent. Very little incorporated sweetness. Lightly floral, citrusy, steely hops with a restrained pine resin element. Moderate bitterness. There’s no late-breaking sweetness, leaving the beer to finish as dry as it began with its bitterness carrying over into the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Falls on the lighter end of medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: Found it a bit mediocre, a little bit drier than preferred, but by no means bad.

Really nice IPA. Copper brown, piney, sprucey hop aroma. Flavor is lightly sweet malts, then dry, piney, oak finish. Very clean, as well. Very tasty!

Smells amazing! Really draws you in with the aroma. Little light in the body IMO. Taste is a little different than most ipa's and I don't know if that is good or bad. I can't quite put my finger on it. All that being said for a brand new brewery this is a good first starting lineup so I look forward to their growth. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear amberish gold with a fluffy white head that leaves plenty of lacing. Aroma and taste of earthy and citrus hops up front give way to a solid caramel base. Kind of sweet for an IPA with a bubblegum like taste underneath it all. Slightly bitter earthy hop and caramel malt in the average length finish. Light-medium bodied, sticky texture, average carbonation. Good IPA. Nothing groundbreaking, but good.

I've had a lot of IPAs. It's my favorite style of beer. This one is just meh to me. Carbonation is a little strong. It pours a nice honey gold, and smells alluring at first. However, the hops are a little over the top. Your taste buds will be severed for at least 30-45 minutes after consumption. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a mostly clear (hard to tell even with wiping the glass--the beer is a bit too cold and there’s a lot of condensation on the glass here in the ATL airport) classic golden color with a fluffy eggshell colored head. A pungent grapefruit citrus hop nose. A bit of a nice biting texture with an astringent finish. The tongue is left feeling coated. Competing grapefruit and pine flavors with an adequate yet, uninvolved malt backbone. Nice.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of dunn4040. Pours a hazy golden amber with a moderate linen white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Very pleasant aroma that is dominated by grapefruit but with notes of tangerine and pine present as well. The flavor begins with malt and is washed over by grapefruit and tropical fruit hops bitterness. A combination of fruit and pith. Leans towards the lighter side of medium bodied. Enjoyable.

Slightly cloudy orange pour with a large, frothy white head. Aroma is primarily citrus with a bit of sweetness. Flavor has a lot of orange peel and grapefruit, even some apricot. Nice resinous, hoppy finish. Pretty big flavor, I likeit.

Had draft from my local Taco Mac. Orange hue with a slight off white head.Aroma of pine and grapefruit, with maybe a little apricott. Pine and citrus hoppy taste that blends out to a small bit of malty sweetness. Aftertaste is more pine hoppy goodness. Mouthfeel is clean and crisp. The hoppiness will creep up on you the more you drink this, and it will start to feel like an imperial by the end of the glass. 74 IBU’s according to Jekyll’s website, so it is on the higher side of a normal IPA, but slightly below most imperial. Overall a great beer from a newer brewery, and a welcome addition to the southeast beer scene!

This is my first beer from Jekyll Brewing, a new craft beer brewer that started rather recently here in GA. Pours a pale honey orange with a thin white head. Aroma is big notes of pine resin, tangerine, and grapefruit. A nice clean fruity IPA scent. Flavor is also very citrusy with dominating flavors of fresh grapefruit throughout. The hoppy characteristics sit in the background, letting the citrus flavors really take center stage. Moderate sweetness keep it balanced. The Georgia beer scene is full of rather dull IPAs, and I kind of figured this would be just another one of those. It surprised me though. This is probably the best non-imperial IPA I’ve had from the state. Very solid beer. Looking forward to seeing what else the people down at Jekyll put out over the coming years. Edit: Turns out this was my 100th beer rating. Go me!
