COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When you’re craving flavor, but not ready to get down with the Hop Dang Diggity, and maybe our Cooter is too malty for the moment, it’s your patriotic duty to get on ‘Merican Amber. She will bring you earth tones with a caramel rich backbone. The slightly spicy taste and floral aroma is perfectly balanced with bitterness that is true to style for an American Amber Ale.

Sample at the brewery. Pours a hazy, orangish-brown color, with a big, foamy, beige head. The aroma is orange peels, pumpernickel, rye, honey, and apricots. Some malty, grainy sweetness, with a significant, mellow bitterness. Medium body, sticky, and astringent. Overall, this is a hoppy, aggressive amber ale, with a great aroma. I could drink lots of this...

Westmeister (1650) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - NOV 18, 2013
Draft at the source. Solid amber as all their offerings are thus far. Nose of clean caramel malt, hint of nuttiness, earth and pinch of citrus on the nose. Taste is the same with more grains and a medium citrus hop profile. Nice very balanced amber that one could drink for the duration of any evening.

On draft. Slightly peppery aroma with some rye and citrusy hops. Muddy brown color with an off-white head. Lots of resiny hops on the taste. Lingering orange peel flavor. Hoppy for an amber.

Comes out of the tap a hazy, barely translucent chestnut brown with a decent light tan head. Malty aroma has earthy, caramel and fruity hints. Pleasing flavor rolls caramel, malty, pear and earthy tones over the taste buds. Firm texture is quite fizzy and leaves a malty, earthy and slightly fruity finish. Hops bless ’Merica!

Tap @ Jekyll. Copper color. Nice dry hopped aroma, toasted caramel malt nose. Flavor has a good amount of chocolate notes, toasted grains, nice hops bitterness. Smooth & sessionable. (3846)

Appearance: Amber-tan, medium hued body, lightly hazed with a sporadic, sudsy, off-white head.

Smell: Atop the foundation of caramel edged, toasted bread maltiness is hop scents smelling a tad woodsy, a bit spicy, with some pleasant citrus fruits notes.

Taste: Toasty malts, with a sweetness of caramel with maybe a hint of brown sugar. Faint apricot. Spicy, citrusy hops with some grapefruit showing. Medium bitterness - it doesn’t knock you over, but, it is enough to provide for a semi-dry finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: Neither too sweet, nor too bitter, it’s a well-rounded amber ale.
