Some complexity in this slightly unusual beer. Not as much funk as I hoped for, no sourness at all. The beer is light amber and start with a large thin head that fades quickly. The aroma is predominately apple with very light spice. Several flavors; significant malt, light sugary sweetness, a little more apple, and just a hint of yeasty weirdness and alcohol. Fairly thin palate and easy to drink.

Amber colour with fairly big off white head. Malty, caramel sweet aroma. Malty flavor with hints of fruit and some caramel sweetness.

Clear amber with a big head that reduced to medium quickly. Toffeeish aroma initially, after a while the more characteristic earthy, cellar aromas started to emerge together with some yeasty spiciness. Flavour starts sweet, but the aged flavours quickly take over, providing a drier mouthfeel. Well-carbonated, medium body. Not your everyday beer.

Somewhere between gold and orange, a nice froth hanging on top.
Vinious and boozy, with lots of cork notes and a moldy kind of funk. It smells like it’s been cellared for a long time, although it’s reasonably fresh (under a year old).
Low carbonation that gives the malt all the room to shine, the yeast isn’t the cleanest but but it’s mellow, and with that subdued corky flavor (a bit more and I wouldn’t have liked it), it reminds me more of an old ale, one with a little extra spice, but aged to perfection.

The pour shows a clear amber color with a thin offwhite head. Interesting aroma of hay and fruits. Good flavor of hay, fruits and spices. The palate is light and oily with low carbonation. This bière de garde is good and nicely done but feels simple compared to great bière de garde like La Bavaisienne.

The Lure:
Spicy oranges and sweet candy quietly suggest a well-crafted brew. A bit of cork pricks the distant citrus fruit, as raisins and caramel malts reclaim the nose.

The Festivities:
A soft interplay of malty sweetness is broadened by oranges and a light roasted malt finish. Fruitiness prevails throughout, and a diplomatic serenity reigns.

Transcendence:
Spring seeps into the ground.

Bright amber body with medium carbonation. Aroma of sweet toffee malt, tobacco, cigarette paper, and corkwood. Earthy flavor with medium-high sweetness, some balancing alcohol and low bitterness. Sticky palate. Good, malty Bière de Garde.

Gee the aroma in this fellow is hoppy, for a belgiun fellow. Grassy hops believes me that this is a bitter. Taste is also immencely bitter hops with grassyiness but the malt kicks in just in time to give it a little balancing. Not my stsyle of beer to much bitterness. Not bad all the same.
