Kinz (2179), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA Jun 17, 2005 750 cork bottle. Medium, clear, amber with a touch of orange, no apparent yeaast in the bottle. Aroma was woodsy with a touch of apple. Pleasant flavor, fresh cut oak, touch of apple, and a growing caramel presence as it warmed. Not the most complex thing in the world, but quite refreshing and enjoyable. Lou18 (1353), West Paterson, New Jersey, USA Jun 16, 2005 Bottle from the great Rich. Poured a clear amber , very clear, lots of tiny bubbles.Very nice lacing. Nose had an of aroma, not unpleasant. Lots of flavors swillering around. There was yeast and spices and hops. The is a strong alcohol taste, but at 6.5% seemed odd. This had a new taste with each sip. Very nice. fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Jun 12, 2005 Can Dark amber color. Malty beer, with a good body strength, medium sweet but with a strong bitterness (of pretty good quality). One of the best common beers in France. shrubber85 (2833), Wallhalben, Germany Jun 5, 2005 Corked bottle. A distinct quinine aroma. Clear amber color with small head. Initially a sweet malt aroma with a bitter quinine finish. Like tonic water. KimmoS (50), Finland Jun 4, 2005 From a can. White cidery head, not much of it and it vanishes quickly. Nice warm copper color. Refreshing, I would not mind having this on a hot day. I can’t taste any alcohol. Sweet after taste. Pernille (518), Copenhagen, Denmark May 25, 2005 Wow! Interesting. Is this really apple-beer or does it just taste and smell of it? It’s almost like a mix of cider and beer. It’s quite sophisticated, and Carl even thinks it’s like champagne with soft bubbles! wnhay (722), Princeton, New Jersey, USA May 19, 2005 Nice stuff. Poured golden with a thin white head. Aroma was fruity and had a touch of butterscotch. Taste was very pleasant. I’ll have to try this again because I have only sampled it so far. beaconstreet (811), Washington DC, USA May 17, 2005 Applely, nice. Refreshing to the nose and taste buds. Love the staff at au trappistes, paris.
