3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Bart (2332) - Brussels, BELGIUM - DEC 16, 2006
Paris, Canned. Light amber coloured, with some light carbonation and a small white head. Sweet malty, light alcoholic aroma. Full body, little sprankling. Finish is sweet roasted caramel with a light alcoholic touch. Stronger finish.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 vyvvy (2798) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - DEC 9, 2006
Pours hazy amber with a small white-ish head. The aroma has amber ale malt, light caramel and a light musiness. There are hints of butterscotch and honey. Medium body with lots of carbonation. Starts with the malt profile of a typical boring amber ale with a slightly more spice and some fruitiness. The finish has some sourness and astringency. Not bad, but for a biere de garde this seems kind of boring for what is usually a very interesting style.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 RagallachMC (631) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - NOV 30, 2006
11.2oz bottle. Aroma: Light malt with more sweetness than I expected. Caramel, citrus, yeast, and very light floral and spice. Appearance: Dark amber with orange highlights. Very effervescent. Off-white head was medium sized and foamy with good retention. Not much lacing. Flavor: Sweet malt and caramel, slight lemon, light breadiness, floral, and spice. Palate: Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Overall: Not bad, but very disappointing. None of the good earthy qualities that I like in the style. Very pedestrian.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 nick76 (3461) - Tampa, Florida, USA - OCT 25, 2006
Labeled Farmhouse Ale. The aroma has dark fruit, brown sugar, yeast, and chocolate cake. The appearance dark orange-amber with a medium head. The flavor is like the aroma; it’s very sweet and fruity. The palate is smooth but not overly carbonated. Overall this is a winner. It should also be noted that the alcohol is present but not overwhelming.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Svesse (4215) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - OCT 25, 2006
(Draught at Au Trappiste, Paris, 15 Oct) Golden yellow colour leaning towards amber, disappearing white head. Spicy, fruity nose with notes of yeast. Fruity taste with yeasty, spicy notes and a fairly hoppy finish. Some sweet notes of tropical fruit as well. Refreshing and tasty.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 MesandSim (7108) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 27, 2006
A Mes rate:
33cl bottle from Thirst for Beer, Pwllheli. Milky candied (icing sugar?) nose with a little roasted malt. Amazing red amber colour with little head to speak of but what there is is strangely spotty. A little sickly flavour wise. Again its quite milky and very soft. Plenty of malt and some very slight bitterness and then more malt for the finish. Hard to dig up much to say about it really. It has some good qualities, but lacks finesse and character. Worth a sample though.
