2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
500ml Bottle from Morrisons (£1.25):
Pretty subdued with nothing more than a few earthy hops and traditional style, English malts making up the majority of the aroma. There is some roasted malts and a nutty aroma but all of this is rather hard to detect.
Copper amber with a thumb sized, part bubbly/part foamy and slightly beige white head. There is minimal reduction and some nice lacing.
Quite weak tasting like the nose with the basic roasted malts and an earthy taste shinning through with nothing much else other than some semi-strong bitterness and a nutty taste.
Medium with a lot of bitterness and a clean, crisp feel that is quite dry at the end and has stronger than expected carbonation, moderate on the whole. Not the best although some allowances can be made for the low alcohol content.
This one is pretty basic and again very unexciting yet drinkable. It had a weak aroma and taste but what I could detect was okay and the beer would make a good session beer if low abv. English bitters are your thing.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pretty tasteless overall. Had it thinking it could be a good low cal drink at only 94 calories, but don't think there's a cheat for good beer. Ok....light amber type ale.
