Pub and bottle a few times for this little beauty. A genuine bitter with fresh enough flavours and some zip. Better in the pub, but the bottle is ok.

Cask at the Exeter Arms, Derby. Slightly hazy amber colour with a dense white head; aroma of oranges; flavour is lemony to start, developing a long and intense bitterness.

Bennett’s, Brum. Lagery gold with white lace. Leafy citrus/ slight celery aroma (S.Goldings?). Fresh crunchy Gala, Marston’s sulphur, milky stillness. Smells better than it tastes, but decent.

Date: 24/11/2005 Location: Whitelocks, Leeds Notes: Sweet malty aroma with floral hints. Deep golden colour. Smooth and sweet with a lingering grassy bitterness, but not a lot of hop flavour.

Cask at the Wharf, Aalborg, DK. Clear golden beer with a small, bubbly and off-white head. No carbonation. The aroma is fruity, with bitter pines. Grapefruit, hops and malt-sweetness in the flavor, is finished off by a long, dry and bitter finish. Mellow mouthfeel. (060506)
