Strong toasty nose. Pale gold with a creamy head. Flavour, while a bit watery, is reasonably refreshing and satisfying if undistinguished. That toasty, biscuity quality carries through all the way and gives a sense that this would be an appealing session beer. Very slight sourness at the very end.

Bottle from Morrison’s. Another Golden pasteurised ale from Jennings. Gold colour, fizzy head. Aroma of hops, malt and berry fruit. Good hoppy finish.

JonMoore (1581) - Loughborough, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JUL 1, 2005
Orangey, gold colour with a slim white head. Fruit and veg aroma, some malt. Inoffensive comes to mind regarding the taste; light hops, some malt, slightly bitter. Light to medium mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. Not bad, but dull.

An unremarkable bottle. Quite a good head, but I don’t like the dull, medium colour. Otherwise there wasn’t enough of anything: aroma, taste, bitterness. Best thing is the rat on the bottle.

Joeh (2038) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - MAR 20, 2005
Bottle from Morrisons, High Wycombe, Bucks. Boring golden bottled bitter devoid of almost any character with just some trace malt towards the end (slightly sweet, biscuit). Incredibly dull but not unpleasent.

Bottled, Pasteurised, 500ml;
Pale gold colour with fizzed short head. Sharp unassuming bitter, somewhat tinny and harsh. Malty sweetness with a forced bitterness on the finish. A little boring really.

highlandlad (1376) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - FEB 16, 2005
Solid but unremarkable English "golden bitter". It poured a caramel colour with a short white head. Hint of strawberries and some sweet malt in the nose. A little skinny in the body but quenching. Well rounded fruitiness in the middle and a late burst of bitterness. Decent session ale but there’s not enough going on to bring you back otherwise. (Bottle)

Orange body with small white head. Aroma is lightly maltet with some hops. Flavor Has a slight sweetness, but is dominated by the hoppy bitterness.

Spiesy (2338) - Sydney, Greater London, AUSTRALIA - SEP 7, 2004
UPDATED: SEP 8, 2004 Bottled. Golden with low carbonation, producing a sudsy white head. Asparagus and fermented vegetable aroma. Sweet honey flavour, neutral middle palate and late bitterness that barely arrives at all.
