Blond color. Paper-like aroma. Too thin and metallic, not enough malty, just some strong bitterness and honey touch.

Fresh grassy-ish aroma. Oily, grainy mouthfeel. A bit of malt, then biscuity/breadlike palate. Oily, bitter hop finish on the tongue and biscuity around. Satisfying overall.

worldbeertaste (628) - Lancashire, ENGLAND - MAY 29, 2012
Brown copper colour with thick soapy lacy white lasting head. Smells of fruit (apple) caramel and hops. Grainy bread medium thin body. Sweet caramel with a biscuit cookie malt element and a fairly strong hop bitter aftertaste. sOME Acidity to the finish. A bit of an apple crumble with caramel but a little sour and bitter to my taste. Prefer the cask.

November 2008 review from BA: green 500ml bottle, well inside its BBD. Poured into pint sleeve glass. Light amber/terracotta in colour with bubbles rising to the large white head, it looks a very good beer. There is very little aroma, some hops and malty tones, but not much for me. Dry and refreshing feel to the taste, hops and yeast obviously in the flavours. Some citrus fruit in there too, but not sour or sharp, more grapefruit than lemon and limes. Well balanced and easy to drink, carbonisation about right with a good firm body for a beer of 4.2%. The brewery is now owned by Banks’s or whatever they call themselves now (Marston’s?). So far they don’t seem to have changed anything up in Cockermouth, only time will tell if that is to continue.

50 cl bottle. Pours a thin white head, nice amber color. A woody malt in the aroma. Flavour of grain, hint of chalk. Not to much here. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500 ml bottle. Pours with a good head which disappears fairly quickly leaving some laces. Nice bitterness but otherwise quite bland. Slightly metallic aftertaste. Won?t buy another bottle of this ale.

Bottle 500 ml from La Maladière Centre - Neuchâtel (CH). Colour of a luminous sunset, short white head, humble crackling. Malted aromas, earthy and grassy hops, nut, a bit toffee. Idem for the taste, with notes of hay, paper and toffy. Light, fluid, mild bitterness, fruity.
