Dark amber in colour, aroma is floral and some malt. On the taste I have to say itís one of those thin in the mouth feel English bitters like Shepherd Neameís Spitfire. Find them a bit watery and lacking body on the palate. this is the same. Also quite intensely dry and bitter on the finish. Not one Iíll have again.

Cask at Bedford Athletic Rugby Club. Amber with a white head. Grainy malt aroma and taste with some straw and sourness. Sharp bitter finish. Makes a welcome change to GK IPA as the guest ale at this Midlands 1 East Rugby Club. But got beat by Leighton Buzzard today.

Cask, Birmingham, UK. Copper, slightly doubly aroma. Sweet, bit of a metalllic taste.

I have drunk this in many places - usually Hobsonís choice - and it never strikes me as being a great or even a good beer. Little aroma and very, very bland. One can give Marstonís the credit for maintaining production at Cockermouth but they really should be putting out something with a bit more oomph than this.

Cask (Saddle Inn, Keswick, York): A bit unclear, deep golden, "woody" hoppy nose with a subtle fruitiness; very light bodied, moderate bitter-sweet flavour; a certain fruitiness plus herbal hops in the dry finish. O.K......

From cask. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is mild fruity and slight peachy. Citrusy and mild orange fruity. Bitter and bone dry. Bitter finish with a persisting fruity note. Ends dry.

Cask @ the Horstetail Inn, Shipston-on-Stour. Amber coloured, hoppy aroma. Medium-to-full bodied, bitter, nice.

Cask. Malty nose with some wheat, copper, small off-white head, some pretty lace. Flavour is a softer malt, some hops are present as well. Light bodied, balanced, creamy smooth. Good

(Old BA rate - cask) Completely see-through light brownish color with a bit of gold in the color. Nearly pure white head. Good, but not excellent lacing. Fairly bland aromas, with some fruit (apples?) with not a whole lot going on. Really no hop aromas. Taste is pretty basic. Malt and fruitiness are pretty well balanced, but I was expecting a bit more hop given the style. Fairly thin, of course no carbonation given cask serving, and a bit more watery than I would like for the style. Pretty decent drinking as it wasnít too hard to take down the sample. But it left me wanting for taste.
