Ungstrup (24008) - Oamaru, - DEC 4, 2005
[Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen] A deep red beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of berries. The flavor is sweet with notes of berries, toffee, malt, and spices - especially cardamom comes thru. But the body is thin.

BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 8, 2012
Dec 2011, the cask version I had last week was bloody awful, bland, weak and boring. Dry and fairly bitter taste, with the burnt flavour of the malts taking over from the toffee in the aroma.

tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - FEB 2, 2012
Tasted this in the Saltcot, Saltcoats (JDW) in December 2008. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear russet in colour with a thin creamy off white head. Maple syrup present in the short but sweet aroma. Thin creamy mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a moist maltloaf base with molasses and syrupy raisins. Slight note of peppery hop resins add a earthy note to the rapid bitter aftertaste. Finish is rather sweet with vinous fruit evident. An ok session ale and much better than some of the other bitters in the portfolio.

niquillis (428) - Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 18, 2012
On cask at eagle and child, leyland. Pours brown with a lasting head. Malts, slight hint of caramel. Typical Jennings mediocrity ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

johndoughty (2946) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - DEC 21, 2011
Cask. Tried at our family Christmas meal at the delightful Meadow inn at Ironbridge. Quite malty, without the over carbonation of the bottled version. Lingering malty bitterness. Rather pleasant.

Leighton (4100) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 8, 2011
Cask at The Hamilton Hall, JDW, London. Pours clear, red-gold with a foamy, off-white head. Weak malt aroma, some leafy hops. Lightly sweet flavor, some berries, sugars, other ripe fruits, hints of bitterness. Light bodied with fine, smooth carbonation. Fairly bland finish, some creamy sugars, ripe fruits. Average at best.

sm89walt (1419) - Norwich, Norfolk, ENGLAND - NOV 27, 2011
Cask - The Bell Hotel (JDW), Norwich. Fine & lasting creamy off-white, lacing head; clear, deep amber body. Caramel, mid fruits and boiled sweet aromas. Sweet, boiled malt and caramel on the tongue with some yeast & a metallic note. An average, no frills bitter that was a bit flabby & non-descript. Light to medium body, soft palate texure, short finish.

Muldul (5) - West Sussex, ENGLAND - JAN 16, 2011 does not count
Nice, ""quoffable" beer, good with a meal, but a bit boring to drink in its own. Very light taste, low viscosity. I would drink it if you’re not sure what you feel like having.

tommann (1452) - Dudley, West Midlands, ENGLAND - JAN 3, 2011
Cask at the Fountain, Clent. Pours dark brown with a medium, creamy head. Aroma was nutmeg and Coke. Not much to start, Christmas spice, bready malt and a bit woody in the finish.
